Made an order of about 150 different parts, about 300 total...
The answer was "sorry but no stock" - did this happen to anyone before? Is this normal? It's my 3rd order...  :'(  :'(
Emailed them to clarify.. let's see what they say. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed. I was looking forward to it, though fearing the total, as usual.

				Tahra,
Do you use German DS? Not sure what is going on there as I order from US DS; in the US they are swamped at DS....Amanda said they have had a lot of large orders, and I don't think she gets much help. So if the answer is no stock, could it be that they don't have the labor to fill the order? I am not sure.
I just received my order from August 2nd, which took about two weeks longer than usual. Anyone else have ideas as to what is going on at DS?
Cheers, Pgal

I WISH I could use the German one. Mine is iberia. Thank the Gods we understand spanish, cause that's how they reply.
I have NO IDEA what it means. I expected some parts not to be available, but ALL!?  :'(
I'm really down about this. Let's see what they say. If they reply. You know when something looks too good to be true?

It depends what the parts are as well. Playmobil only keeps parts 4 years after they have been discontinued and then they are gone due to storage space limitations. If they get bought up before then they may not make another production run just for filling DS orders, since a run is in the range of thousands of the parts.

I know, some could be, but most were kinda recent... Some were like "hey, let's try this", and it would be no surprise not getting them... On my previous order there was a list of parts that came as "no stock" and "limited", but I don't think it's permanent - the no stock included the small green dragon wings (but the body was available, so I have a wingless dragon :( ) and the flame for the torches, for example... which are current pieces. And VERY common, in the flames' case, right?
So, while I was expecting a list of "not available" parts, I NEVER expected a short "sorry, no stock of the mentioned parts"... It's unreal  :'(

			-
we never had any denial of parts, just a lot of availabilities but on really old parts... some parts are becoming very rubber-like, like the flames for the torches so I am thinking that maybe they are restocking right now with a new material...  ??? and it will take sometime before all are available again... just a thought.

Is it the time of year - the summer holidays and stocks levels have run down or even the stock is there but there are no staff to unpack it?

I thought of that.. at least here, almost everything is working (at most) at half speed in august.. But I mean, today is september..
Besides, I did a couple of "regular orders" last sunday and got them as usual on thursday..
I'm REALLY worried abou this :(

			-
Don't know about US DS being loaded. I called a few weeks ago with a long list and they had one thing.  Did they get a new shipment in the next week or so maybe?

			-
Now they only reply with "they depend on the stock in Germany". Ok.. but when they expect to have more? "they depend on the stock in Germany".
Bah. Will repeat my order next week!  :(
My dragon will remain wingless. My sails shipless. Among others. :(

perhaps its time to check on the old cannon parts once again panos ....

That's weird. I've never had problems with direct service...

And the flame for the torch got a new partnumber, as have many other pieces that are now made of the softer plastic...
F.e. some partnumbers from the 4007 pirates-superset released in last december/january (not yet outside Germany and Benelux) have already changed!

REALLY?! :o  Do you know if it's compatible with the old ones?

yes, it only feels a bit softer and (sadly) the colour is slightly lighter...
The torch in the new pirates-sets (this time in very darkbrown) is now also made of the softer material.

I got my latest order within a week after payment.  Actually they never were so fast before!
Maybe you should try and split your list in two or three. Maybe someone got discouraged before such a huge pile?
Best,
Arnaud

Compared to the 1000s I see about here.. mine was little...

			-
Sorry to drag this up, but yesterday is FIVE WEEKS since I sent the last parts list to them (yes, it's still the same order).
I don't get it. What have I done?

			-
That's very strange. ??? Maybe you should try sending it again? :-\

			-
I emailed them 2 weeks ago and I THINK they said they were getting it ready... almost 3 weeks now..
Gods. I CAN'T FREAKIN BELIEVE THIS. When something is too good to be true, it generally is, that's what.

My comment will sound somehow stupid, but maybe they're always extremely busy?

Since September? I really don't know what to think...

			-
So it is true things go much slower down south... :P
;)
It is a busy time of the year, but 5 weeks is terribly long, I'd phone them to inquire!

			-
I can't phone them... They're spanish. I REFUSE to make it up.. and AMAZINGLY they do not understand us, though we understand them...
I don't wanna be a pain, you know. I'll wait another couple of days and email them again..

			-
ah ohh, i had no idea you had been waiting for so long, sorry
yeah, sounds like a pain in the neck :-\
do you happen to have any friend in Spain who can help you out with the 'language barrier' maybe?

			-

They're spanish.
I hope it is not "Manuel from Barcelona" who is in charge of taking care of your order!
Don't they speak a 2nd language, like English or French?  ???

			-
I have no idea what the problem is...
BTW, once I got a brazilian too....

No, always by email...

				Hi,
one of my last orders was lost in their system although I received the automatic mail reply...
I would suggest to call them. Try it in English if they are unable / unwilling to speak portugese.
schluss

I didn't get an auto reply, someone replied to my query about it...
Spanish in general don't speak english either... I'll email them again and ask.. I'm afraid of making myself a pain, you know? I don't get it.

Once I was doing the tourist thing abroad, and I was accosted by this Spanish guy - a tourist too. He asked me something, in SPANISH, like it was the most natural thing in the world. They're worse than the Italians in that regard. (But not as bad as the English, mind you ... at least people in North Italy have good French, quite a number of them).

			-
I never believed that spanish didn't understand portuguese, though I was told often enough. I mean, if we can understand them, it stands to reason they must understand us..
Well, untill last year. Went for an Aerosmith concert in Barcelona... We spent quite some time speaking with them waiting... and they really don't. And most people have lousy english, cause their tv is murdered.. so they're not used to it... UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!
Of couse, when people want to understand each other, they do. That is my firm belief.

It's the same thing in Belgium. You tell them something in French (my French is not very good but oh well), and they pretend they are not understanding you. They go: quoi? or something. They won't make many allowances. The Flemish are ok; however and they can speak very good English most of them.
But we digress. We are going to get a smack on the bottom. So: back to topic:
Oh ... no parts yet! What a shame! Forsooth!

			-

The Flemish are ok
Bedankt! - Thank you! - Merci! - Danke schön! - Gracias!  ;D

Both ends look the same. We have a saying along those lines in Malta, actually  :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
