now i want more trains... again...   oh well .... btw I assume that the smoke from the steam engine is using a rauchermann tablet (i guess they are called incense cones here) ... not sure if everyone is aware of these... hadnt thought of using them for that myself until now... better put that on the list too... :)

That is a really awesome layout!!! Very very nice. And yeah, the cat is so cute. I love that they just let it be a part of the video, watching the train and following it around, instead of fighting with it.

My grandfather used to use those for his miniature trains.

trains are kind of like a hot thing these days on the forum after all :D

i need to try the smoke thing too! (that sounded kind of weird)

the customized victorian cars are awesome - who's the author of this magnificient layout?

Glad to see others are catching the train bug also now !!!     . After 3 days with my playmobil/LGBs i can only think of them and miss them today, as i had to dismantle it all and store it yesterday  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(... LGB train tracks are soooo superb and playmobil fits perfectly scale wise .... what an awesome combination this is , i can only say that i just cant wait to set up my track again and see the 4051, 4052 and the others stuff i will be getting soon , moving along these awesome tracks and making this characteristic and charming , soothing metallic sound as they roll on these rails.....

I will put on flat wagons the victorian car and track etc, a 4300 station ,  in my next train set up as the timeframe will be early 1900s in my next train set up which i promise you will be no less than 100m in total length and have no less that 5 playmo trains in it . My current set up is around a total of 40metres i cant remember right now .....

Yes, Sacha´s layout is great.

He had created lots of funny things and placed many ideas and its solutions on german playmo boards like klickywelt.de.
If you like to see more of Sacha´s ideas, subscribe to Klickywelt.de.

That's a transversal (german: Schiebebühne).
The pieces are from Playmobil but not the control, motor(s),... It's a self made electronic custom.

I've seen that video before, definitively one of the coolest PM train layouts I've ever seen! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif)

The smoke looks fantastic! And the music goes really well with the video  :)

Are the site-seeing-tour busses customs? They look smashing  :o

Great video. Shame about all holes everywhere - that's system X. It really needs fixing.

Anyways, I really loved the cats too (duh). Fortunately the trains are too big for them to actually PLAY with them. Mine used to follow it about (mostly with his eyes, he'd sit inside the 8 or the O - from the "nostalgie" or the RCE sets - and just look. If it was a smaller scale, I'm sure it would be more... interesting.

I wonder what Pudim would do. He's so afraid of everything... I should try that. :)

No, you can't put smoke to the loco with a »Räucherstäbchen« (incense stick) cause they glow and the loco is made of plastic and would melt.
Here in the loco there is a smoke generator (described in point 7 of the trains FAQ), e.g. Seuthe No. 7 (http://www.seuthe-dampf.de/start.htm): up to 16 V [or for the RC locos: Seuthe No. 5: up to 6 V].
USA trains (and other) also make smoke generators with a ventilator. With this and e.g. a Zimo decoder you can make sound and smoke synchronous to the wheels. Also the smoke puffs away.
Here you can see a video of it (you can also make it with a Playmobil loco) [KLICK!] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHwo5LjNVBo).

Yes, they are made of the victorian oldtimer truck and a 4100 passenger coach body (or similar).

So seuthe No. 5 can be fitted to the RC steam loco and is connected to the battery in  some way.

very interested now on exactly how the smoke deal works... :) I had just figured on modifying the stack, but if i can make it smoke without doing that... then that would really be something... are there any that could just stick in the stack or are they all huge?

I think these do fit in the funnel, they just seem big in the pictures.

Yes, the Seuthe smoke generators (No. 5 & 7) fit in the funnel, no problem.

The smoke generators with ventilator and with larger tanks you have to place under the funnel, perhaps with a short hose to the funnel.

That's a great layout. I love the use of the space station parts for the elevated rails.

I have to tell you, that this layout in this room no longer exists.

The builder (Nobody = Sacha) made a new layout in his cellar, which is not terminated now.

And is the No. 5  difficult to connect to the train battery?

After opening the motor block (case), you have to solder the 2 wires of the smoke generator at these two places (see picture).
