Title: Wild West In the Barn 9/11
Post by: Rasputin on August 28, 2011, 22:57:20
So I decided to organize most of our western stuff before I have to pack it up. It is one of my favorite layouts and has a special area in the barn.

I first will show some overview shots of the area. The trains go on the outer edge of the dioramas on both top and bottom. I used to use the area under the tables for storage but I ran out of room for displays so I set up scenes there as well. I have a lot of work to do yet such as custom signs for all the shops and more building to finish.

I was thinking of taking pictures of each building/event going on in the diorama so I have a sort of record of how I set it up. I hope you enjoy looking at my obsession 1/2 as much as I enjoy gathering it all up.

This is just incredible, Ras! I love dioramas! :love: :love: :love: That's my favorite use of playmobil. ;D And wesstern is my first love, so I want to see LOTS of pics. We'd love to see all your close-ups! Can't have too many. I think I posted about 160 pics of my diorama.

Coooll!!

But...why did you write 9/11 in the thread-title?  ??? :hmm:
Your collection in the barn doesn't resemble "Ground Zero".

after we get done playing with it all it sure looks like it too me   :lol:

Oh, it was just for rounding off the date  to 09/2011 and not putting 08/28/2011. When I pack it up I want to remember where I was at in my obsession  :P

I am now wanting to look for a lot of bison now that they have been discontinued, and signs, and, and............ 8}

Be careful of what you ask for as some of the buildings inhabitants will test your abilities as a edit button slinging shoot out sheriff  ;)

Yeah, I've dreamed of having a whole herd of bison since I was a kid, and now they've discontinued it just when I'm getting back into western stuff. :-\

Especially the double and triple story houses, I've never seen that before and it looks great.

What a wonderful collection and display set up!  I love the fact that you can get so close on the interior.  That is a great idea.  You have done a super job of customizing the buildings.  Thanks for the pictures . . . more please!  ;D
