This is the last segment of Group Rounds to determine the final field for the playoffs.
Leading out for Group G is local favorite Sir Sigismund of Sweetwater
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-1.jpg)
-
His opponent will be the Mighty Mysterioso
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-2.jpg)
Sir Sigismund has one win coming into this round. Mysterioso hasn’t had a win and one here will not be enough to get him into the playoffs.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-3.jpg)
First run out and we have some solid play by Sir Sigismund, getting a head tap off of Mysterioso for 2 points. Mysterioso managed a shield hit for one point.
I think Sir Sigismund took advantage of the shape of Mysterioso’s shield there. It usually isn’t a problem for him but Mysterioso hasn’t been playing his best this time out and probably should have switched to a different shape after the first round.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-4.jpg)
The second run now and we have a bit of payback by Mysterioso, he’s gotten the helmet tap this time with Sir Sigismund being left with the shield strike.
Tied now at 3-3
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-5.jpg)
It’s high stakes here for Sir Sigismund and it looks like both of them are scheming hard. Maybe a bit too busy scheming as they missed each other entirely this run and the score stays tied at 3.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-6.jpg)
Looks like that scheming payed off for Sir Sigismund, He manages to lure Mysterioso into an early lunge that misses entirely while Sir Sigismund cleans up and gets the win with a shield strike.
Mysterioso is out but how the next match turns out will tell whether this was enough of a win for Sir Sigismund to move on to the playoffs.

We’re going to go now to Arty out on the field for a word with Sir Sigismund
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-7.jpg)

Thanks Vanidel,
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-8.jpg)
Sir Sigismund that was a pretty close match with a tie for two runs before you managed to get the winning point. How are you feeling right now?
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-9.jpg)
Well I feel pretty good Arty. I think I managed to achieve my goals there, Mysterioso was a challenge as always but the play went well there at the end. Don’t know if it will be enough to get me into the playoffs though.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-8.jpg)
I noticed you’ve been using a warm up garment prior to the matches start and only taking it off at the last moment. Why is that?
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/1/mj-3-g-1-9.jpg)
Well my mom made it for me and she’s been in the audience this tourney. Hi Mom!
Back to you Vanidel

Thanks Arty,
We’re ready for the second match in Group G today. The much anticipated match with Arngeir the Viking of Krull, who’s been doing remarkably well so far
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/2/mj-3-g-2-1.jpg)
-
and his opponent will be the experienced Sir Wolfram
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/2/mj-3-g-2-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/2/mj-3-g-2-3.jpg)
The Experience is showing there. Sir Wolfram gets a little extra speed from his horse this run. The Viking must not have been expecting it as he wasn’t ready with his lance as Sir Wolfram got there for a nice shield strike.
One point for Sir Wolfram
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/2/mj-3-g-2-4.jpg)
The Viking is a quick learner and any speed change by Sir Wolfram has been offset here. A solid shield hit for both contestants.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/G/2/mj-3-g-2-5.jpg)
And another solid match up resulting in shield hits for both. The extra strategy on Sir Wolfram’s part at the beginning has won him the match as he reaches 3 points first.
That gives us three competitors in Group G with two wins each so it will go to point to determine who moves on to the playoffs.
Sir Sigismund has a total of 7 in his two wins and 12 for all 3 matches, Arngeir the Viking has 10 points in his two wins and 12 for all 3 matches. Sir Wolfram gained only 6 points total in his winning matches and 8 overall.
So it will be Sir Sigismund of Sweetwater and Arngeir the Viking of Krull moving on to the playoffs for Group G
-
We’re moving into our last Group of the preliminary competition now, Group H.
First up will be Sir Christoph of Riverway
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/2/mj-3-h-2-1.jpg)

Jousting against Sir Seamus Flynn, the Champion of the Winterhaven Tournament
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/2/mj-3-h-2-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/2/mj-3-h-2-3.jpg)
They’re off to a quick start. So quick they nearly miss each other entirely. Sir Christoph manages to catch the edge of Sir Seamus’ shield though and gains a point.
One point for Sir Christoph
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/2/mj-3-h-2-5.jpg)
Sir Seamus uses some of his expertise that showed so well at Winterhaven and does a nice shield feint gaining him a shield hit off Sir Christoph without taking one himself
Tied now 1-1
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/2/mj-3-h-2-6.jpg)
Both looking solid this run, with shield hit’s all around
That moves the tie up to 2-2
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/2/mj-3-h-2-4.jpg)
The last run of the match looks much like the first with Sir Christoph just edging a shield hit off of Sir Seamus while Sir Seamus comes up empty.
That’s a third point for Sir Christoph and a win.
-
We’re at the final match of the Group Rounds now
With Lord Etir Sayest
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-1.jpg)
-
Competing against Baron Roderick Blackthorn
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-3.jpg)
Baron Blackthorn won his last two matches and he doesn’t seem to have slowed down any. He gets a nice shoulder hit off of Lord Etir, with Sayest only managing a shield tap.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-4.jpg)
Good on Lord Etir, he’s managed to pull his shield just enough to avoid taking a hit while solidly pounding the Baron’s shield
Score is now tied at 2
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-5.jpg)
Both looking strong here we see shield hits on both sides, keeping the score tied, now at 3 points
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-6.jpg)
Looks like they both are being more cautious this run and we have a full miss.
Score still tied at 3
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%203/H/1/mj-3-h-1-7.jpg)
Wow, what a way to end the day! Lord Etir tried a fancy shield move there but Baron Blackthorn managed to get inside Lord Etir’s shield and knocked him squarely off his horse.
That gives the win for this match to Baron Roderick Blackthorn. He’s won all three of his matches this Tourney and is going on to the playoffs.
Sir Christoph’s win this round was his only one, while Lord Etir Sayest has two wins from rounds 1 and 2. So Lord Etir will also be going on to the playoffs.
That closes out Round Three and our day here at Marketon Jousting Grounds.
The matches for the first round of Playoffs should be posted shortly, and we will see you all tomorrow for more exciting play! Thanks for joining us!

Very exciting stuff Tim, such detailed pics such nice little story lines.

Were I too loose our round, I can think of no better man to loose to.
Rest well for our match.
Tim, that was nail biting!!!
I was so freaked when I saw Etir loose,
luckily he won his last 2 rounds. :o :)
Hopefully he will continue on in the tournament,
but I am happy just to be past the first rounds.
Good one Blackthorn!
