Here we are with Groups C and D in Round 2
Starting off for Group C is Sir Elric
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/C/1/mj-2-c-1-1.jpg)
-
and his opponent this round is Sir Arjay Rupiks

Brutal!
What a slamming hit for Sir Arjay! That’s thrown Sir Elric right off his horse and nearly out of the jousting grounds. Looks like he’s getting up fine though.
A bit surprising really after a hit like that.
That clearly gives the win to Sir Arjay Rupiks

In the second match of Group C we have Sir Merriadoc of Winterhaven
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/C/2/mj-2-c-2-1.jpg)
-
his opponent is Sir Bartholomew of Salish

-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/C/2/mj-2-c-2-3.jpg)
Another unhorsing! A nice solid hit by Sir Bart pushes Sir Merriadoc right out of the saddle. A pretty gentle fall really compared to that last one.
The win goes to Sir Bartholmew of Salish
-
The first knight for Group D is coming on the field now,
It’s Sir Jaknoi of Gacim
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/1/mj-2-d-1-1.jpg)
-
his opponent today will be Sir Barry Barrington-Smythe

-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/1/mj-2-d-1-3.jpg)
Some clever work on Sir Barry’s part there, a shield feint lured Sir Jaknoi into opening up a gap and has allowed Sir Barry to score a body hit. Sir Jaknoi missed as Sir Barry pulled in his shield.
2 points for Sir Barry
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/1/mj-2-d-1-4.jpg)
Sir Jaknoi has been more cautious keeping his shield up, but not high enough to avoid Sir Barry slipping his lance in for a glancing blow to Sir Jaknoi’s helmet. Jaknoi missed a second time.
Another 2 points gives Sir Barry 4 and the win for this match.

In the second match for Group D we have Rubeous Raven the Bloodthirsty
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/2/mj-2-d-2-1.jpg)
-
against JustFred the Flower Lover
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/2/mj-2-d-2-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/2/mj-2-d-2-3.jpg)
It looks like JustFred got his shield up just in time to avoid a body blow there, but swept just above Rubeous’ shield missing it
One point for Rubeous
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%202/D/2/mj-2-d-2-4.jpg)
JustFred misses a second time, due to jerking his head to the side to avoid a risk of having an eye put out by the Bloodthirsty’s lance.
He’s certainly living up to his name this match
That’s four points and the win for Rubeous Raven the Bloodthirsty.
I understand he was a bit upset about yesterday’s loss.
They did finally get the fire out at Tervern’s Tavern though
Oh good
Well that brings to a close the first half of the day here at Marketon.
The local favorites did well today
In Group C we had wins by Sir Bartholomew of Salish and Sir Arjay Rupiks, and in Group D wins by Sir Barry Barrington-Smythe and Rubeous Raven the Bloodthristy.
There will be a break now for field maintenance and a Luncheon of Salmon Dainties and Argenland Goose (by invitation only).
-
Looks like group C is in a four way tie. Elric is heading for the tavern to find his pride and to clean his shorts out. Ouch!
-
I love the pics of the guys flying off their horses!!!
With some luck Sir Paul won't be in any of those!
-
Impressive pictures and events !! This tournament is indeed very very exciting !!!!!
-
Great work, Tim, in both words and pictures.

This picture is just awesome! How did you guys do it? I mean, a clicky can't hold in that position and we can't see any strings...
Sir Elric won't seat for a while, I bet!
A.

That's one of my favorite shots. I will reserve my comments on technique for the Behind the Scenes thread that will come at the end of the tournament. I will just say that I did not use any thread or anything like that to hold that klicky in place.

Thanks for reminding me of this image. Elric is not taking this very well. Beware next opponent!

Yes Tim's technic is awesome!!!

I feel sorry for Sir Elric, mind!
Someone who hasn't seen his champion unhorsed cannot know how bad it really feels. I had Rubeus unhorsed yesterday and Sir Christopher went down on the first round in Winterhaven (though, we're still investigating the possibility his saddle was greased...)
But still, this picture is awesome.
-
Ouchy!! They heard Sir Merriadoc's bones rattling all the way in Winterhaven.
Sir Jaknoi bows his head to Sir Barry on a well fought match and a deserved win!
-
Well, taking a break to frolic in the flowers didn't seem to help JustFred in his second match.
I think he's off to find his friend Sven and raise a glass of Jungle Juice It's Fruit (with an undertone of essence of marigold) and ponder the flowers in the field.
