Welcome to the Opening Ceremonies of the Marketon Jousting Tournament!
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Opening/mj-op-2.jpg)
It’s standing room only today as people from all over the world crowd into the stadium to see the spectacle of the arriving knights.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Opening/mj-op-3.jpg)
It’s going to be a great day for it Vanidel, and it’s our first chance to see how the Knights have been grouped for the early rounds of the Tilt.

The knights have been getting ready all morning, and here come the first contestants

Entering first, In Group A are Sir Baldthar, The Wandering Knight of Chateau de Lily, Knight Josephus Gottgens, and Sir Lawrence of Cashtown!
Two new competitors there Vanidel, Sir Baldthar and Sir Lawrence were seen at Winterhaven earlier in the Season, but de Lily and Gottgens are relative unknowns making their first appearance in a League event.

Next up in Group B are Sir Fergus McAngus, General Sir Agnar of Krull, Alban de Fleury, and Jack Fearless of Eulenburg
Again two we’ve seen before – Sir Fergus and General Sir Agnar, with two new faces Alban de Fleury and Jack Fearless. Nice to see Eulenburg taking part this time, it’s such a lovely town.

In Group C we have Sir Bartholmew of Salish, Sir Elric, Sir Merriadoc of Winterhaven, and Sir Arjay Rupiks
Four familiar faces there, with Sir Bartholomew being a local favorite and jousting for Pavelonia.

Here is Group D coming in Rubeous Raven the Bloodthirsty, Sir Jaknoi of Gacim, JustFred the Flower Lover, and Sir Barry Barrington-Smythe
Sir Rubeous is quite the threatening fellow, though experienced knights like Sir Jaknoi or JustFred shouldn’t be too intimidated. Sir Barry is another local, and is acting as the knight for Sweetwater this tourney.

Group E are entering now, as the others make their way around the stadium. We have Sir Alexander of Korent, Sir Cecil of Ethero Valley, Sir Cygnet, and Sir Adler of Saxony
Sir Alexander is the only new face in this group, but a threatening one for certain. He has quite the reputation and rumor has it that the others are a bit concerned.

Leading out for Group F is Sir Paul E. Merous, with Sir Odysseus of Ithaca, Lord Alderran of Avelina and Sir Bartholomew Hale
Strong competitors all in this group. I expect to see some great matches here.
There are two under a very similar banner in this group Sir Edward?
Yes the Golden Dragon, though the two are not related as far as I know. This sort of thing isn’t so uncommon as you might think. I suppose there are fads in Heraldry just as there are in the rest of the Fashion world.

Leading up Group G is another local, Sir Sigismund of Sweetwater, along with Arngeir the Viking of Krull, Sir Wolfram, and The Mighty Mysterioso
Another strong group here. Mysterioso has quite the fearsome reputation. The inexperienced Viking from Krull will be hard pressed to keep up with this batch I think.

And here is our final Group, H. Lord Etir Sayest, Sir Seamus Flynn – the Champion of the Winterhaven Joust, Sir Christoph of Riverway, and Baron Roderick Blackthorn. Just how is it the knights end up in this particular order Sir Edward?
Well it’s totally random Vanidel. Each knight is assigned a number when they sign up for the Joust and then the umbers are put in a bowl and mixed about. They are then randomly drawn and noted down on the master chart.
