We've had the specials come out earlier this year. The figure and accessories are fantastic. Not too sure about the head, plus i would've preferred having a tanned Cleopatra.
Here's my customised version.
-
Thanks for the report, Andi!
I'm sorry to hear that some of the accessories didn't quite meet up with your expectations, but glad that you like the figure, overall. :)
Here's my customised version.
OOOOH! She's gorgeous! Really effective custom, Brian!
-
Hi,
Brian: very good customizing i like it !! The Arms are looks great !!
Sylvia: i like the figure but i love the head , i love all strange heads !!
(Aliens, Bunnies, Cleo)

i think corkscew is rigth - a little tan would be better, instead of this very much caucasian/elizabeth taylor like skin color.
A golden sarcofagus to go with it would be a nice addittion, don't you think?
-
Thank you for your GREAT review of Cleopatra, Andi !!!

I agree, Sylvia !!!
And, IMO, Brian's customized version is much better than Zirndorf's Cleopatra !!!

Hello, Pedro ...
The Playmobil mummy isn't quite a sarcophagus (but you could paint it gold) ... ;)
It really would be cool if Playmobil would make a sarcophagus like the one that Gordon Smuder (http://gardenwargaming.com/gallery/smuder/smuder.html) designed ...

I must say that I really love her. The one thing I don't like is her head - I would have preferred to have the normal face - I find this to be too detailed.
I agree that she would have been better with a tanned skin; but I can live with this.

I absolutely agree, Bogro ...
I too prefer the normal face and think that this klicky would have looked a lot better with tanned skin ... :yup:
In fact, I really like set 4546 a lot more than this "new" one.
All the best,
Richard

I hope Playmobil doesn't start painting the face on all their klickeys...
I just picked up a clearance Asian judo figure at TRU, and the face was painted on.
I was disappointed.
I like the tan Cleopatra better as well, and the "regular" head. :yup:

I don't collect the specials, with the exception of the union and confederate soldiers, unless there is something quite special (pardon the pun).
For example Sherlock Holmes, Mummy and Vampire. As these figures are quite unique. So I will be getting Liz Taylor for my small collection. Does she fit in the mummy case I wonder ?

Was that ANOTHER pun, Craig? ... ;)

Your getting good richard

I know this is a fairly old thread now but I only got my Cleo last weekend and I'm a bit confused with the printed face. :-\
I can't work out if the mouth is to far too the left or the eyes are to far to the Right, that's Cleo's left and right. Also the right eye has running mascara and a bit of the white on the left eye can be seen under the eye outline.
I have noticed on the box image though that the mouth is black, so I wonder if they tried the head with black moulded in eyes and mouth. Maybe they had problems getting the print exactly over the black eyes and decided to go for a complete printed face.
So , I too would of liked the older style head and a tan skin. However I'm not going to customize or change my Cleo to get a perfect figure, I like her with her slight defects, nobodys perfect.

Hm... the "Pirat with red striped trousers" in this year's US Target-exclusive 5782 has also a painted-on face!!
(his eyes are the same as those of the Black Queen special 4591)
-
Hmm, I really like her. A lot of nice and exotic new pieces.
As I have a faible for new wigs, I like her haircut.
As for the tanned skin, you should not forget that in ancient times
the tanned skin was a sign of poorness. It was luxurious to spend
the whole day outside the sun, and to be outstanding in egypt, I
expect Cleo must have been extraordinarily pale. ;)
Look at the painting of Reginald Arthur...

(I think in Japan, still all woman try to stay as pale as possible.)
best,
socrates

The first Cleopatra special looks more Playmobil to me - The new Cleopatra reminds me so much of some Kinder eggs Egyptian figures that came out in the late 90's. Her outfit and accesories are very cool though.
Nice conversion, Brian.
