:hellol: Hi! :hellol:
In searching for parts to my Playmobil, I came across this fantastic site and couldn't believe my luck. There are actually other people like me!
I started collecting Playmobil about 10-12 years ago, mostly for use in my psychotherapy practice. I really enjoy working with kids and Playmobil has the detail and (usually) the variety for representation in therapeutic play. As I bought more and more, I realized that my Playmobil was for work... and my own enjoyment. :-[ Now finding that I have more toys than will fit in my office!
I hope to be able to join in your community and see how everyone enjoys Playmobil. (And would love to find other play therapists out there... anyone?) Thank you all for the information I've already found on the boards, and for all the questions I hope to have answered in the future!

Hi Kate, Welcome! I am excited to see your post, I also use playmobil in my classes as teaching tools---a type of "play therapy" to help college students better connect with concepts we're looking at. I am also very interested in the reasons why different people are drawn to playmobil and to toys in general. I'm delighted to welcome you to the post---I'm a newcomer as well.

Hello and :welcome: from Louisiana!! Great to have you with us!
A member you might enjoy talking to is gaspodfreud. he is a..... psychologist? I think, and I don't know if he uses playmobil in his work, but he uses it in communicating with his own children and finding out what's on their mind.

Hi Kate!
Welcome from the Scottish Highlands! :coo:
So glad you found our forum. I've heard a few times before about people using Playmobil figures during therapy sessions. It's quite amazing how versatile these toys are! 8-)

There's a couple of figures in a Pretender ep... Kinda like that, I suppose.

;D Thank you all for the welcomes! ;D
I need to take some pics (Been meaning to, so I can show off to others... or at least explain the depth of my toys to some who don't quite understand I have more than a "toy box" in my office) I need to spend some time now putting away from the last big session, then will take some pictures of my nice orderly shelves. :)
Then to read the post on how to post the pics... and get them up! :P

Another welcome from England, Kate. It's brilliant what you can do with playmobil. I have recently started using one playmobil toy in my surgery, the merry go round with children on it, and it has never failed to calm a crying child, never mind the mesmerised parents, and the doctor too :)

:welcome: Welcome! It is very comforting to know there are others who feel the same way about Playmobil. Glad you found us
