Title: Help with diligence
Post by: tonguello on June 24, 2011, 17:31:46
http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3245

I just bought set 3245. And I believe there's something wrong with it. I doubt this is just how it comes out of the factory.
The thing is that there's a big gap between the removable roof and that back (the part that lifts up). It looks like there's a part missing. But the part doesn't show in the instruction either. So Im puzzled. Is it like that or is it a quality mishap?

Can someone provide a pic of theirs to see how it really is?? Thanks guys!

I am not really sure where the gap is exactly Gaston... Can you post a pic of your first?

Im at the office playing with it  :shhhh: :shhhh: I don't have my cam here

I can post one tonight. But if yours has a good union between the back and the roof, then something is wrong with mine. I mean I can see the interior from out there. There's like a 6 milimiters separation.

Have you tried it flipped around the other direction? Those clips on the corners are for the lamps I think, so should be toward the front.

Yep, I think im's right. It's just backwards.

Hmmm.... can you take a picture that shows the whole coach? I'm wondering if it's the wrong roof piece or something, but can't tell without seeing more of it.

If you look at this picture [KLICK!] (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-02-5950), you all can see, that his roof is not backwards.
That's not the problem. In front are 2 lower holders for the lamps and in the back the are 2 clips (too).

I think, the roof should be pushed some millimeters to the back.

Look here [KLICK!]!!! (http://www.hood.de/img1/full/1776/17763230.jpg)

In that second pic on that link, it looks like there is a space. So maybe that's how that stage is supposed to be? I have the 3803, and it fits snugly, but that coach is a completely different mold for sure, not sure about the roof, I'll have to look again.

EDIT:

yeah, the roof looks like a different mold, too.

Ha! I never noticed that before...  :lens: I have six such stage coaches Gaston and they all have this same gap... so it can't be a mistake, at least for this mould. This gap is not present in 3803, as Bonnie very correctly has observed, nor in the latest edition of the stage coach! So it perfectly correct Gaston. Looks a little annoying, but it is correct.

OK guys, thank you everyone!!!

I can't move the roof back because it fits perfectly in the front.  :-\
So apart from the "normal"gap this roof must be a little shorter somehow. And that makes a huge problem (for me. I can't stand to look at it )

I have corrected the mistake and will post pics soon... when it is done.

Thanks a lot!!!
