That's my favorite and it looks to be in great condition. I have one but it's missing one of the flat panels off the nose. Still my fav though.

I went to my Bank Today and sent payment . Pricey indeed but i think its very difficult to find a mint, boxed one. and i have been looking for quite some time. WQith my recent western train purchases the LGB rail trucks buys ( over 75 in total no i think) i will eventually create a modern train set up also and the 4052 is superb looking, actually i will have it ona couple of rails on permament display in my small playmoden , it looks so so sooo beatiful this train

I have a question (read this word many times, can't find it in the dictionary):

What is »playmoden«??

What is »playmoden«??

Playmoden is a fictional word , derives from playmo for playmobil and den which means  room. It refers to a room that is completely or partially dedicated to the storage and/or display of playmobil.  :)

Thank you panos, alex and gis. exscuse my over excitment but truly this is one of the bext playmobil sets i ever had, the detaling and build quality is fantastic, if someone comapres the quality of plastic on this train to the quality of plastic of recent pirate ships and castles which i have in playmoden 2 right now there is  a big difference . It goes without saying that playmobil aint what it used to be , even the klickies look better quality than those of today depsite lacking the various features and details of today.

The 4052 is a truly awesome set and wil go to the pantheon of my most rare sets in playmoden 2 .    .. i wil be getting eventually  a couple of dozen fo wagons next , a few more train engines and some more LGB rails and post some cool pictures of the lot .

i wonder is it the same type of plastick the one they used on the train engines and steck parts? i think it's not the same the train plastick is more solid ....  :hmm:  yes the plastick quality was wayyyyyyyyyyyy better back then.... (http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Signs/pfff-0020.gif)

Plastic not only changes over time the actual ingredients have changed due to better knowledge, social pressures and safety standards. I do not want my kids playing, especially the 123 line, with plastic made with bisphenol A.

oh yes that's another case... but i don't think that's the only reason for the poor plastick , i guess they use less plastick also now  :hmm:

George I have just checked my 4052. There is one lamp in the front of the loco and due to the piece of plastic inside it will light all three head lamps up.
The tender is the same with one lamp that will light the three tail lights up.
The lights will come on as you run the loco. The faster it runs the brighter the lights will be.
No extra wiring to the track is required.
