EDIT: seems it's on the website but how come i've never seen it :eh?:

I can't see them here but I'll check tonight home.
I have seen some videos posted here, can't say now if they are the same or not. Anyway...it is always great to see how our dear friends are made!
-
I've always wanted to see ANY toy manufacturing process behind-the-scenes, so now I'm doubly happy to see one AND it happens to be Playmobil! (now if only I could see one by Takara/Hasbro, manufacturers of Transformers and Star Wars toys).
Bill, you must be delighted to see your fire fighters and equipment in the process.
I wish I could see the pirate ships being made in process, though I truly appreciate the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack in the videos, (kinda odd, lol, but cool!) :)
also interesting that they do breakage tests, stress tests on the plastic, sun tests, heat tests...no wonder Playmobil is nearly indestructable! Being a collector of other toys, I highly doubt other toy companies conduct quality control tests like that, aside from child safety tests. Awesome!

These are really great videos!
-
These are also available in the playmobil homepages, but they don't have such a great music background ;) ! Thank you for the youtube links Luis
-
Thank you for sharing these great videos showing masterpieces in process, Luis! :thanks:
You are so right, Atto! It's fantastic to see how so much care is put into the development & production of these great quality toys, especially my favorite firefighting theme!
-
it is very nice to see this i've seen other such videos though ..... can you visit the factory and see these live?
but they don't have such a great music background ;)
i think that music was too 'tragic' for that theme ???
-
The videos were so scientific, and perhaps, even a little scary at times :o Thanks for sharing!

Yes, thanks Luis! Everyone should see this video! So impressive, isn't it?
Just to underline Wolf Knight's post here is the link:
German Version (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Link-Page?id=QUALITY2010)
English Version (http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Link-Page?cid=TNP_INFOS)
There you can also get a lot of information because there is a lot more than such dramatic music, real human speaking!
-
Thanks for the link, Sir Pleamo! :thanks: I actually enjoyed it more with the voice/explanation.
The heat test is amazing 8-)
I'd never seen that section on the website, and now I want the pirates DVD

I'm certainly sure that this is no other DVD than this one (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Product-Show?pid=80234&cgid=LZ_Computer) which already is available (okay, maybe only in Germany), but the best with this item is only the limited Edition which includes the special Pirate captain figure... At the moment I'm too lazy to check my boxes and take a picture but you can see him on top of the DVD-box! The language is German, English or Turkey!

One possibility is that one at amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Playmobil-Secret-Artist-Not-Provided/dp/B002JM2CMQ)!

I bought it here in B.A. from one of my sellers. I don't know where she got it.
-
I am not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but the book, item 80074-
PLAYMOBIL-The Story of a Smile, is the special of the month at PM US DS. It is half price at $15. I think.
Mine has not arrived yet, but should be here tomorrow.
Anyone familiar with this book? Maybe it will describe the manufacturing of PM, too.
Cheers, Pgal
-
Yeah, it's been talked about a bit. I got mine last week. Looks like it's going to be on sale for another month!
-
bonniebeth: I could not find any mention on PF. Under what is the book listed for a search?
What do folks think of it? There was a wonderful two volume set on Lego two years ago. One covered sets and the other was about minifig. It was quite helpful in identifying what and who are in what sets. Great photos.
I hope the PM book is that good.
Thanks, Pgal

Here you go, pgal. http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=7833.0

Wow! Thanks!
Could not find it because it was under Pick of the Month, not book!
Mine should arrive Monday, so look forward to reading it. Hope you are enjoying yours.
Any ideas of to whom I could give the stack of Ghost Pirate free gifts I have accumulated? Does anyone play with them, and if so, who is it?
Cheers, Pgal
