There will be a new exhibition in the german national museum in nuernberg on the early work of Albrecht Dürer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%BCrer). And I am writing this here because they decided to have a playmobil Duerer as being their maskot. And this maskot is just fantastic.
See this german news article (http://www.nordbayern.de/nuernberger-zeitung/nuernberg-region/ungelegte-eier-und-ein-wuchtig-ding-1.1241860?searched=true) for a picture of the new exclusive set.

Oh, how awesome! This is just the kind of thing I would love to see more of from playmobil!
-
That is so cool!!!
-
That's a fantastic figure. The show isn't for a full year yet so I wouldn't expect to see them available for a while yet I guess.
-
An interesting new direction for Playmobil. I know they've made figures especially for exhibitions before but I think this is the first of an actual person
-
Hum... I was full excitement when reading the thread-title :yippee:
...but when I look at the klicky...I don't find it good...I know Albrecht Dürer but making the klicky look like on the portrait, made the resulting figure quite bizar IMO.... :(
For example the prints on his arms look strangly modern and not historical, they used a BROWN CHAINMAIL-hairpiece ??? ...also the hat looks weird and I can't see much use for it on other klickies without a repaint.
Sorry for spoiling the fun :-[
-
There's one in every crowd. :P ;D :P

Gordon, this is not quite true. They already did the 4906 Goetz von Berlichingen (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=5007.msg67155#msg67155) klicky for the same museum I guess, and they did the 6100 Elisabeth (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=758.msg9973#msg9973) klicky for a musical.
So, there are at least two examples when they already did persons. :)
(if we do not count in holy persons like the nativity setup or knight christopherus or st.martin :P)

for me it was the opposite, I found it very clever to use the chainmail as a dürer haircut.
and to be honest, without the portrait it is difficult to identify the klicky as dürer as he is not that prominent, I guess. ???

I find the PORTRAIT really good, that's a must have! ;D
I'll try to get my hands on this set, but surely Dürer himself will get other arms, a different coat and hairpiece!
"Resistance is futile, you will be customized!" ;D
-
Absolutely a great klicky to have for a mediaval citizen . god i want to buy lots of it but i suppose it will be a bit difficult to get them here so i will settle for a dozen....

Wow! Some of the parts they used are a bit unusual, but I think it still looks great! 8-)
We visited Dürer's house when we holidayed in Germany many years ago.
Brings back very happy memories of that trip.
(I'm going to insert the image as an attachment here just in case it becomes unavailable in the future.)

THIS IS AWESOME.......playmobil could build its brand as the best crossover limited edition figure for these kind of functions. Unlike lego which is making licensed SW and HP sets, playmobil stands as something of high quality and of great collecting value!!!

Are we sure this is real and not an "Apple Store"? ???

after reading your message......this could be correct...the patterns are not printed on but are just stickers.....UM.....just wait and see :hmm:

I think this clicky is awesome!!! I love the details and to me the use of the chain mail hair for the curly hair is great!! I love it!
-
Yeah, I think the chainmail hair was a great idea too. It looks like my hair.

 I love, love, love this figure! Dürer has long been one of my favorite artists (his Melencolia I is one of my favorite works) so I hope this figure will be available to all of us. Bonnie already expressed my own sentiments:

Yes! More special sets like this, PLEASE! :)

If the offer is open to others I too would love to have access to this interesting exclusive. It would be so great if Geobra continued this idea as there are a lot of wonderful artists from all over the globe.

Daniela - you are so kind to make this offer - thank you! If there are several people in North America who wish to have one, and if it is possible to obtain enough figures, I would be willing to receive a quantity and then re-distribute them over here, if that would save trouble and reduce shipping costs. :)

No problem, we will work it out.
But we have still month to wait for it.
The exhibition starts in May 2012 and the figure will not be available earlier.
So we have to wait until next year.
As soon, as I know more next year, we can start an order thread. ;)
I will be happy to help you all.

Obviously, Daniela was wrong with this! The figure can already be ordered in the Nuremberg Souvenir Shop online.
(aaaand, obviously, they also offer international shipping!)

Thanks to Anna for sharing this Link!

Thanks for the link :)
The figure itself is very reasonably priced
I need 2 of these... but 27 euros is a lot for shipping to the USA :o
-
I was wondering about the shipping too...
-
27 euro can't be right.... shipping from germany to Argentina is only 7 euros up to 1 kilo. :hmm:
Daniela please count me with one!
-
Hmm, shipping inside germany is quite expensive as well...
...for 10 items 8€ shipping, for 20 you pay 12€. ::)
I could order a bigger number and make a combined shipping to the US...
...or even Daniela could pick them up directly in the store and ship them? ;D
But beside the shipping cost, it really is a great figure.
Looking forward to have one.
(I already ordered some, just to check for availability... ;))

Does anyone know shipping to the rest of EU?
-
Can i have at least 4 of these when they become available if that is not too much to ask ?? Krull is in dire need of artists and culture, too many soldiers and armies if you ask me . If ok please PM me with cost , paypal address etc etc . Cheers !!!! ;D ;D ;D
-
You get the shipping info before they ask for bank info (it also says German Bank Accounts only?) so you can find out that way... also if anyone is going to get these for a send-out please PM me as well.
-
At least two are currently listed on ebay.

:eh?: People who resell them, or actually want an exclusive set. There are members in here who try to make money off reselling sets to different markets

What would happen if we each could order 5 through Daniela if there are enough available? We could pay her with Paypal or whatever, and she could buy them direct. Then she could offer them to us without the boxes at one shipping cost and with the boxes at another shipping cost....sending them to one person in each country to save on shipping. Then they would send them on to each of us boxed or not boxed after we Paypalled that person the shipping?
If we are buying them for our own personal use, many of us may not need the box and can save on shipping that way. And the cost of the figure alone does sound reasonable at 2.99E. Daniela gets the quantity discount which helps lower shipping costs, too. I have bought quite a few Klickies off ebay.de lately, and the shipping charges have been from 5-10E for 5-25 Klickies without insurance, which I don't need. So this could save all of us a bundle of money on shipping.
This also would prevent resellers from selling so many at 20-30USD on ebay, which is a real shame for all of us. And could assure us of getting them if they sell out soon, which I think that they will. Feedback? Pgal
-
That sounds great as long as the end price is lower than the scalpers :-\
If I got your idea correctly,
Person 1 buys them at the store.
Person 1 ships them to Person 2 in other country.
Person 2 reships them to person 3-9 ?
-
I think thats a great idea , count me in for 4 of these if an agreement is made to buy these at quantity between us ! I couldnt resist and bought one yeyserday but i still want another 4 , Krull needs artists !!
-
Ras,
It seems that the end price in the US could be somewhere around 3E for the special itself, maybe 1E from DE to the US, and .5E within the US adding up to 4.5E, or less than 7USD. I would hope it would come to around 6USD or less if we do it this way and there is enough quantity to make it worthwhile for Daniella and Indianna and whoever helps out in other countries This way we benefit from bulk shipping to the US or wherever as that seems to be the highest cost in the current pricing structure.
We would need to reimburse both of these ladies for any gas and shipping materials costs so they don't have to spend any of their own funds making this work, incl. Paypal fees. So the quantity discount at the museum store could help cover those costs.
This looks like a lovely figure! It would be great if we could move soon on this before some scalper orders them and we are out of luck.
Maybe we could each let Daniela know how many we each want so she could give us a quote and we could pay ASAP and get the items bought before they disappear. I would love to have 10 if they are available; if not 5 would do in the first round. If we set a deadline for ordering from Daniela, like September 7th, a week from now, she could then give us a quote on the bulk shipping out of DE for each of our countries. Then if we could each pay within the following week, she could actually buy them on Sept. 16th.
In the pst month it has been taking about a week for my five different ebay.de purchases to arrive in the States, so shipping should be pretty quick at the regular level of service. Not sure about how long other countries/continents take to receive small packages from DE, but I have been very pleased with DE shipping so far.
Feedback folks? Daniela and Indianna, does this sound doable at your ends? We really appreciate your helping with this lovely figure! Cheers, Pgal

i think they have 20-25000 of them

I'm located in the United States, and I'd certainly like to participate!
-
Pgal, that sounds great as long as Daniela and Indianna are fine with the details. I could use at least 5. Paypal charges, what 10% or something? Under $10 is a lot better than what the scalpers are trying for, capitalistic jerks
If you are willing and able to help I would like to thank you now Daniela and Indianna :*)
i payed with paypal on ebay .. yeap :)
I think the problem was not on Ebay/paypal but paying for them on the museums end ???
-
depends with paypal. in uk u have the options for sending as gift.. no fees at all!
-
I'd like to participate too, please :). I would like two of these wonderful figures !
Ace :brownhair:

I'm in! These are such awesome figures!
I would be happy to receive a quantity of figures and re-ship within the US. Also Canada/Mexico if there is a need. Shall we start counting up how many we need so we can ask Daniela if the quantity is manageable?
I would be happy with 5 and could go up or down a bit if that makes the number work out better (for discounts, etc.)
-
