Title: (Belated) Hello From Ohio

Hello. 

My name is Doug, and I'm a Playmobil addict. 

I had been recovering for a couple decades.

I passed by hundreds of enticing sets in toy stores all through the 80's, 90's and 00's.
 I resisted them all: druids, sorcerers, castles, ruins, wolf knights...

Then a few moths ago my 4-yr-old niece found my old stash at my parent's house. 
She LOVED the stuff. 
So, it was OK to get HER some Playmobil animals for Christmas, right?  Just for her!  *I* didn't need any....

I was still strong and resisting, until my S.O. started checking out the toys in detail.
So well designed!..  so CUTE!!   And, aren't the 90's toys SOOO much better than most of the newer sets?!

Maybe she could find the fairy garden on E-pay.  Done.   Oh, and  look!  The unicorns she just won came in a lot with the fire wizard.  Didn't I always say how cool that wizard was?

And down the hole we fell.

We actually signed on with with Playmofriends 4 months ago, but have been "catching up" (compiling older sets) for the majority of our free time since then.

As an occasional lurker, I see you as a wonderful community, and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of it.


And now that we're pretty much "caught up", I hope to be building much more and buying much less.  So, see you in the customs section!

I think you'll find it hard to stop buying once you've become a more active member here, we're not very good in discouraging people!!

Great intro btw and there is lots of room here down in the hole of the addicts :-)

you are hilarious.  i resisted buying a bunch of playmobils until my daughter found a few of my older ones and then i went hog wild!!  your introduction made me laugh out loud!!!!!  welcome!!
