Gordon, I guess you are refering to the sword's belt from the Arab Warrior (4691) (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4691)!?!
best,

It was these:

but looking at the bigger picture I guess they are banners held by the rear row of soldiers. :-[

A very imposing army! You did a great job on the setup, too

Perfect, set up just for my Crusaders to mow through them! >:D
Great looking army Elric... for now. :)9

Very nice army you created. Every time I see those Egyptian hats I want a chocolate ;D

Thanks for the nice comments. That's funny Ras because the first thing out of my 4 year old daughters mouth was they looked like hershey kisses! Lol
Hey Gordon the back row are my standard barrers.

Well that makes two crusader armies they will face. I have close to thirty crusaders but I have not changed them. I like how the crusader specials and the blister pack french crusader knights look.

I actually find the Templar helmet on the blister quite silly... I changed their haor with chainmail and gave the new bullet helmet with the noseguard from the yellow lion knights.

Which is in period what foot soldiers would have worn.
Even cavalry didn't keep their Barrel Helms on for long, only while they charged,
then after they were a few rows in and stopped, they would throw the helmet back
(it had a chain attached so it wouldn't fall away)
And fight with a different helmet, with a better view.

I have a lot of these arab warrior figures. Used to buy them for the neck mail and the legs: I would use those for customising the crusaders. Problem is that what is left doesn't look good: without anything around their necks these warriors look a bit bare. Still, they're among my favourite specials of all time. The only thing I hated was the belt. It didn't fit too good (it would always ride up) and it didnt go all the way round the waist.

I agree with you bolingbroke. I bought these specials for the legs and the neck and chainmail heads. I used the parts for other knights and was left with lots of torsos and arms. I really didn't know what I was going to do with the leftovers until I remembered I bought a bunch of Eygytians at 1/2 price last year. I don't like the belt on this special either but I found good use for them.

Mmm. I have some Egyptians I can spare, too, but I think I prefer the knights-type of legs to go with my crusades-era arabs.
