Title: A scene with the white grand piano
Post by: naflibomyalp on April 14, 2011, 14:00:28
I found out yesterday that I had passed my grade 5 piano playing exam :yippee: ( I didn't think it had gone that well) and not only that but my grade 4 theory exam with 97/100!   :woohoo:

To say that I am happy right now is an understatement!   :cloud9:

So I decided to relax and create some new scenes with my playmobil in celebration.  I have an empty photoframe that sits on the piano which I got for christmas so I thought it would be appropriate to create a photo of me playing the piano to go in it.

The only piano I own is the white grand piano from the wedding theme but I would love to own the black upright one from the victorian theme as that looks a lot more like my real piano.  I chose the klicky from 4697 because whilst I am not keen on the 'fit' lettering I own a hoody in exactly the same shade of green and her hair is as close to mine as klicky hair gets.

Anyway, here is my picture.  I just need to find a way of resizing it to fit my frame.

Congrats on your exams, from one music geek to another! The feeling of achievement is worth every bit of the work. Maybe you can tell me: what piece is it that's printed on the sheet music that comes with the white piano?

Looks like real piano music to me, which I find very cool. It's the little details that keep us coming back.

Now you've given me a challenge!  I'll magnify it and try to play it later  :yup:  If I don't recognise it I'll copy it onto some manuscript paper and take it to my teacher on Wednesday (I'll have to copy it-I don't think she would understand if I took the tiny playmobil one!).
 ;)

Actually, I have done this very same thing before!
Not with this Playmobil music specifically, but I think there was another piece of Playmo music
that I keyed out on the piano. :)
So I have high hopes for this working.

It must be one of the two wedding marches that the piano has recorded.  :-\
Or it is the same printing that in the Xmas blister, and that means they use a generic music sheet....  :-\

Nope, I can see from the back of 4889 - Englechen mit Nikolaus und Leierkasten (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4889) that it's a different shape, without a grip-hole: also there's only a treble clef on that one, not a bass clef, and fewer notes.  There's another in 4891 - Weihnachtsmarkt (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4891), but that has different notes as well!

Curious about them all, now...

What a lovely scene you created! Congratulations on passing the exam. :)

It's usually not difficult to remove the printed designs from Playmobil figures. If the area is reasonably flat you can rub the print off with a soft cloth and some silver polish. Might take some time and effort, but the result will be worth it. This method doesn't damage the plastic either. It usually just makes it a bit shinier. :)

I magnified it and copied it out to look like this:

Some of the things confused me such as the notes that don't seem to have stems.  However, I looked up op.61 with the instructions allegro vivace in C major and found a symphony composed by Schumann for an orchestra which would explain the notation that I am not familiar with.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._2_%28Schumann%29
The symphony has 4 movements and I think that this would be number 2 which after a quick search on youtube seems to be popular with violinists.
So there you go-you learn something new every day.   :D
