One of my hort related forums says its blocked because of nudity!

There was a link to message the company to get the site reclassified, but it meant giving away personal details :hmm:

Have you talked to the school about it?
I can see it in front of my eyes...
''Can you please change the internet setting so that I can log in the Playmofriends forum and share my love for playmobil along my friends? Honstly, there are some really interesting land scaping and organising themes that I have worked as earlier references for my portfolio, so I need to access the forum and share them with you also!!!''
  Worth the try! ;)
-
Just be sure to not show them the wonton woman custom though! ;D

It's a seperate company that deals with it. There is nothing that the college can do.
Funny though how we are allowed on Facebook, Youtube, and ebay though!
Damo :)
-
Right, that is funny, because a lot of colleges block facebook, myspace, and twitter.

good thing they do that! i remember there were a lot of ppl back when i was in college who would only use the computer lab to check their facebook when i was rushed to turn in a project >:(
thank God the staff in charge took care of it and blocked those websites eventually 0)
however i do remember i sometimes would only go to the computer lab to check Playmoboard and eBay when everyone else was hurrying to finish their papers :-[

We're a different breed here arent we? ;D

On Sunday night I was browsing the forum while wearing only my Superman undies.
Maybe it was because of that (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/hmm-1.gif)?

have you tried googling playmofriends. That sometimes overrides the system just long enough for you to get to the site and after that your on until you close the page.

I've sometimes found that when I can't get on to Playmofriends direct, googling it allows me to get on.

Fatcat you could try going to my web site and using the link from there.

I'm amazed that you are wasting a valuable opportunity to enhance your education by using the computer for anything other than proper study at college
My son, on the other hand, at the tender age of almost 5, had to sign a form agreeing to use the school internet responsibly and not use sites such as Facebook, Twitter, EBay or other social media, etc, etc. This was two weeks after he started and until the form was returned to school he would be unable to go into the IT suite. He couldn't read, couldn't write and still needs to be logged on to the computer by his teacher
-
Thanks for all the ideas, guys. I've tried all of them, but none of them work.
I've noticed that Playmofriends is a .com. If it were, say a .co.uk as well, would that work? (although only until the blocking company catches up! >:D)

Well to be fair, I had got all my work done and up to date, and have had a few 3 hour sessions in the library free :)

I agree with Bad obviously a Good Mum :wow:. Especially today people can spent their entire time inform of a PC. When iwas at college , i used to work at the same time :uhoh:, had to study for my engineering ( difficult ) and business ( fun) degrees late at night , sometimes i would fell asleep :zz:with books and photocopies on me . No ebay ( there was no facebook at the time  ) and no nothing, ok there was the occasional PC game but that was about it . clubbing :apple: and chasing girls ( not literally !!!) :-* :inlove: was usually for Fri/sat/sun , ok some mondays also only.... . let me put it this way and that is being said on a truly friendly basis and i hope not to be misudnerstood , the harder you work and make some sacrifices reinforce your self with qualifications and experience , the better life you will probably have , ok that equation doesnt always apply but usually does. And then you can buy as many playmobil as you want and not think whereas its got to be 10 or a 100 !!!! Thousands of klickies !!!!! and not only ;) ;) ;)
All said on a friendly basis and by no means a judgment or whatsoever, please no one misunderstand me !!!!

may 9th - 13th was the busiest week of the year for me (so far), that's why I was not on PF very much. I was at the computer, but almost did not use facebook, ebay or PF at all - it was a matter of discipline i guess :)

Currently sitting in class at college on my laptop ;D
Damo :)
-
You are? :hmm:
-
 Are you at least taking proper notes? :hmm:
-
It's alright, I had finished my work ;)
-
I understand perfectly. I've done my fair share of chilling out on my computer during those boring quiet periods in class.
-
Am I too old? I've never had a computer in class! :hmm:
I doubt kids take laptops to school nowadays either....

Well, I don't mean in high school, though my brother teaches high school, and the kids and teachers check out laptops from the school library to use in class for projects, mostly group work, so you only need 5 laptops or so in the classroom, or they may take turns. And they do have internet access and everything, but social networking sites are blocked. Of course that's easy to get around.
When I was in court reporting school, though, we all had to have laptops, it was a requirement, and they were always open and next to us, so what we were typing on the machine would come up on the screen. Of course, between dictations and during breaks, most of us were either online or playing solitaire... or majhong. ;D

at the university i attended we used laptops instead of notebooks (it was a requirement too) - not all schools are like that though (at least not in Latin America), mostly just some private ones
we couldn't access facebook or msn until certain hour (facebook became popular down here in my senior year)...I was always a smart (maybe nerdy :P) boy who would never open those sites when in class 0) - I do admit I used ebay a couple of times to win auctions though :-[ >:D :-[

bad bad kids! >:( ;D
-
Oh, I did a LOT of ebaying while in class. :-[ I had a great spot against a wall, so no one could see what I was doing. I was still "in the closet" as a playmobil collector then. Good thing I didn't know about this place yet, or I would have been on from class all the time! ;D

I love this....can't stop laughing.... ;D ;D ;D
I remember in infant school when we were learning to write we used little blackboards and chalk
...at school we didn't have computers either, but at teacher training college we were able to borrow a typewriter to make life a bit easier!

My brother had an electric typewriter in highschool to do his homework on. Those didn't last long. My mom has a really old-fashioned typewriter in a case.
