Title: My Samurai General, Completed!
Post by: WarriorOfToys on March 28, 2011, 17:52:58
Ok, So I really liked what Cheng was doing wit his Samurai's legs...
and I thought, why not give my Samurai this armor,
otherwise Cheng's Samurai will have an unfair advantage. ;D
So I guess, what I am trying to say is this statement...

...Maybe in time I will use the same technique, (talkign about Cheng's leg armor)
but for now I am trying to stick to mostly Playmobil. :P

...was a lie, an absolute lie. ;D

However, after I added the leg armor,
I though he looked a little to... uneven. His legs had too much armor.
So I added shoulder armor too, something I should have done long ago. :)
And here is the finished product! (Overboard? No...)

Here is a simple view from the front,
His sword is tucked beneath his arm.

I hope you like him!

OMG WoT you definitely stepped it up

...his leg armor is so much better than mine and his new shoulder armor is brilliant (curved plastic? from another soda bottle? ;D)

btw what's construction paper like? thinner than cardboard so that it can go inbetween the rollers in your printer?

dont think about matching colors, your general can wear red/pink/green/blue whatever bright colored sleeves/trousers and look very samurai still  ;) even your shoulder/leg armour can afford to be multicolored...especially Generals  :P

Thanks Cheng! :wow:
I am glad you approve. :)

No, the shoulder armor is just more construction paper, which is just thicker paper,
pretty much as you describe. :)
(I use it a lot for playmo customs as it is flexible, durable, and extremely versatile.)

As for matching colors,
I am a little OCD when it comes to that... :P
So I think I will keep with the color scheme.
But who knows, I might find some completely seperate colors
that go well together and fit them all into one custom.
After all, I said I wouldn't do this with the leg armor only an hour before I decided to!
