Title: Kids playing western
Post by: Rasputin on March 11, 2011, 03:31:25
Well here is something you do not see in here very often, pictures of kids (yes the real ones) playing with Playmobil. Well it is really just the set ups they made in one of our rooms . We have each our own forts that we spend time trading and coexisting. Wars seldom break out due to the costs and of fear of looting from other forts. This set up has been going on for about a month now and we will soon change to a new theme as the westerners are getting tiresome.

Most if not all of these were recently acquired sets (in the last month and a half) that I was too lazy to put them in the barn and it is so cold out there anyways.

This first picture is of our youngest son who is turning 6 tomorrow. We helped him with the buildings but all the other bits he set up

The second fort is from our 8 year old. He is always changing his set up and giving away all his stuff as he like a nice clean look. He has well taken care of animals and is really concerned about the aesthetics of the layout

Our oldest son now 10 like to dominate the area so he has horded a lot of trading material. He really likes to maintain power so he has amassed a small military and is really concerned with trading amongst his neighbors

Here is my outpost located on a small hill side over looking the valley below that has the other 3 forts . Under neath I had a mine but that disappeared and now there is a tomb of some kind.

Here is the pile of stuff they use for add-ons

Here are the monsters a day before we started. I had to get some used playmobil going as you can see what they started playing with instead

Ah, it's great to see playmobil being used as it was originally intended - for kids to play with it! Those are some great, very creative forts you all have created; I just love the versatility of playmobil and how it's so easy to take what you need from some other themes to accomplish whatever you need. Thanks for sharing! i did have to laugh at your fort "on a hill".... once you're an adult, you start to realize what great exercise playing with toys on the floor really is.  ;)

Yes you should have seen when the plane started to do fly-bys   ::) The older two sometimes complain that the younger one keeps bringing in non-western ideas into the play. As soon as they see the usefulness of having a fast get-away car they change their tunes  :lol:

The fire truck was just part of a random mix lot of sets missing parts but if you ask Bill B. he will also tell you how hard it is to find the light unit used

I only had one playmobil busted up rally car as a kid so I am glad to be able to provide our kidos with, umm well how to put it, a lot of it  ;D

The fire truck was just part of a random mix lot of sets missing parts...

With that kind of stuff lying around I would SERIOUSLY consider making some customs :!:.

Reminds me of my own playing days! :P That's cool. Wonderful to remember the nonsense of children play ... Whatever comes to mind, there you have it! I think I need some of this back, it might make me happier! 8}
