Title: Question about 7477 Victorian Fence - Hope this is the right place to ask
Post by: Celeste in New Orleans on March 10, 2011, 18:53:55
Does the 7477 fence color match the 5300 house? Does anyone have a photo of the two together? Thanks
Celeste

I think there was a thread about it a while ago. If I remember correctly the new fence 7477 matches the yellow mansion 5301, not the 5300

I hadn't seen the first thread in this subject,

But I can confirm: the 7477 fences does NOT matcg 5300 house.
It matches the 5301 - it's much more yellow compared to the 5300.

I was surprised at how dull the yellow is. I thought the 5301 house was more yellow than the house fence

If you paint the fence green, it doesn't match at all

I was thinking/hoping that 7477 was meant to match 5302, which will be released in the US this August.

Title: Thanks everyone. That painting the fence green idea is not bad.

I'm going to try to find a color that was used in New Orleans during that time period. That would be really  cool. You guys have the best ideas.  :)

You're doing a New Orleans set-up? That's so cool!  I definitely wanna see. You know I'm in Baton Rouge, right?

I like the yellow colour of the fence  :o ... because I bought the 5301 mansion instead of the original 5300.
(It's purpose is to act as a Governour's house on a Carribean island or so, therefore I think a yellow colour would be more appropriate for such a house on a 18th century island, and also because some rooms are bigger... It will be a bit customized though, like using the base-plating of the 5300 as groundlevel floor, wallpaper, adding flowers on the 1st floor windows, and I've meanwhile installed the brown stairways of the 5300 and the original 5300-red curtains on the groundlevel windows)

Title: Bonniebeth, I didn't realize that. Cool

It's a slow process. I do it a little at a time ( when the money becomes available). I need to start working on making curtains. Anyway, maybe I can get up to Baton Rouge sometime to see your zoo in person. My husband plays at Carrettas sometimes with Julio & Cesar.

Oh he does? That's cool; I have a friend who lives right next to Caretta's. I would really love to do a big display some time... I really don't have room in my house to set up the whole zoo; my animals spend most of their time in a closet.  :-\

As said in the thread above, the fence matches the new doll house 5302. It's lighter than 5301 and more yellow than 5300. However I set up the new fence with my 5300, and it coordinates quite well.  :) I'll try and post a picture my fence and house later.

Attached are a few photos of my 7477 fence with the 5300 house. Although they don't exactly match, they coordinate very well.

Also I'm sorry the fence is technically on the wrong side of the house, but my youngest daughter has been playing the with house rooms this week. If you look carefully, you can see that the maids to reorganize and clean the inside of the house

Attached to this post is a photo with the house (5300) and the fence (7477), and one of the columns with flowers from the original fairy tale dream castle (3019). As you can see, the fence posts are almost identical to these columns. The fence posts are more creamy than 5300.

Also, my sister has the 5301 Victorian house. I took the fence post down to her house to compare it. The fence posts are a lighter, softer yellow than 5301, but still look like they would work fine with it.

I really like the new fence however if you notice in the pictures, several little pegs from the bottom have fallen out. They do not stay in very well.  :( Other than this problem, I'm pleased that the 7477 fence coordinates quite well with 5300, and that it is available at a much lower price than the price of the 5360 original fence is selling for on eBay.
