Hello all. Having enjoyed and continuing to enjoy the fabulous customs displayed by members, I was wondering if people would like to share what parts and pieces they have used from other toy manufacturers, dolls house items, custom made foods etc?
I know Sylvanian Families have some furniture items which are a similar scale, but what about landscaping items (trees, sands, stones, etc), foods, fabrics, etc?
I would love to see what non playmobil items have been incorporated into dioramas etc.

Thanks, Linda. I was going to ask exactly the same question as I now have too much Playmobil to reasonably expect my son to play with :o so we are going to make more displays.
I'm very interested in ground materials, landscaping and background items (although in my case it definitely can't be permanent and must be easy to store).
That tapestry is quite something :)

I have used extensively Playbig parts and sets. The Playbig Viking Ship ( 75cm long ) fits perfectly playmobil and apart from its cult status for toys collectors looks awesome and more than twice as big as the Playmobil viking ships. I have used in the past Playbig weapons , mediaval ( in teh days when i didnt have enough playmobil mediaval weapons) and also the Playbig M16 machineguns with lens on top , they look awesome with SWAT / Police Klickies I must say
In the mid 80s I used to combine Advanced Dungeons and Dragons ( i have a collection with over 120 action figures ) they playset fortress of fangs was the replacement for the green dragons rock temple back then and also their TIAMAT multi head dragon ( a boxed one call sell 1000dollars these days !!!) plus some od their monsters like the giant spider looked awesome with Playmobil , with the current dragonland series these would fit perfectly also , shame i have already run out of space before even unboxing my newly aquired dragonland series !!!! :lol: :lol:
Apart from Playbig I also used some movable joints Smurfs as a dward village in the 80s , these one had movable heads and limps could hold playmobil items and remove their white hats and fit perfectly on scale with playmobil ( shorter ) but all that went when the playmobil magic and the playmobil dwarfs appeared !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
I uded also the space ships and some modern armie vehicles of AIR GUM BOYS back then in the 80s..... I rememebr having a charriot and quite a few romans of these including arena warriors and thinking back then how cool would be to have playmobil romans !! great when playmobil wishes come true !!!

I've purchased some doll house miniatures from Hobby Lobby that look pretty good and are fairly cheap. I think the brand is called Mainstreet Miniatures. But I couldn't find anything on the internet about them. Some of their things don't quite fit the scale, but many do. I've picked up paintings, big sacks of flour and sugar, bread, fruit, cake, cookies. I've also seen a 1970s looking little TV and a sewing machine which look pretty good. If you're ever in Hobby Lobby give a look. Don't bother to check their website, it's horrible. ::)
