Title: People like to sell the items from a set one by one on EBAY
Post by: Heronimus on January 09, 2011, 04:32:24
I think this is quite good an idea, but sometimes the individual parts become quite expensive, adding the shipping!! Let's share who do you buy from the most??? Unfortunately, for some famous seller, particular those from MALTA, get too famous and bid wars appear, and the prices got driven to some unrealistic level.  Disclaimer: I am not a seller on ebay and hold no relationship with any one of them:wave:

I buy from Baden (he's a member here too) a lot, and he sells the parts individually like that, but with buy it now prices. I think it's a great idea. I know if I need an individual part from a big set, I'm willing to pay a little more than the part is technically worth just to avoid buying the whole set. And it gets here in two days because he lives very close to me, instead of having to wait on a parts order from DS.

Are they all new??? I mostly buy from UK and Malta, as their shipping to Hong Kong is cheap and the system is efficient.

They're new a lot of the time, sometimes if it's a part from an old set, it will be a used item. But they're always in good condition. And he usually lists the set number in the description of each item, so if you look up all the sets the item has beeen in, then you can easily search through his store inventory and see if he has it. (Sorry to talk about you like you're not here, Baden!  )

I buy individual parts and items mostly from playmofieber, playmozwerg27, and sometimes from Midlandtoys-Berlin and Pauline's Playmo Land.

I buy klickies and steck from Librejoggen and just klickies from ps-internet-store, cofisa, cubbuc200, and Kick mol rin.

I buy sets without box from veronikafoto and rotzname, and boxed or misb sets from bebel94, klicky-paradies and klicky-town.
For very special occasions, I buy any item or set from playmochris.

When i am unable to find what I am looking for, Baden is the right seller to visit!

Mind you I might buy more than twenty items sometimes so shipping/postage cost is acceptable to me.

I deal with alot of these sellers also with the exception of Librejoggen who refuses to sell those outside of Europe! Ralf is the one I spend the most money with ;)!

I buy mainly "buy it now" mansion parts and have found comm123, foiled1 and of course Baden to be great sources for parts.

i find things on local craigslist, or buy it now from baden.  i don't have the time or patience to monitor ebay auctions other than to watch prices.   i have been quite lucky on craigslist here in sf, because there are lots of families who clean out their children's toys to make room for the next phase, and they usually have been very well cared for.

HI

What I want to know is why are Badens prices so weird? The items are always ending in some strange cents $2.34 $2.13 $3.28 $5.88 and if the items are the same the price never is

Baden are there some weird listing rules that cause this?

Just curious

I can never find anything at all on craig's list here. I haven't seen one single playmobil listing.

Sorry I had to comment, playmochris is one of the most overpriced sellers out there in ebay, he is a rip-off artist in the sense that he is asking ridiculously overflated prices (often for used sets), but here I go again, there are a lot of naive buyers out there. Bebel94 buys on ebay under a different name and resells again against a profit, nothing wrong with that, but he is also pretty expensive.

Yes, thats why I stated I only buy something that I consider special from these sellers, such as a misb or an opened set which is hard to find and absolutely clean! At least I do not need to wash these sets when I get them from these sellers, and I know they are in excellent condition and I can display them just as easily.

Hi Panos,

But unfortunately you pay way too much from these sellers even for misb sets.

If you can't find it anywhere cheaper, then you are not paying too much.

Exactly as Bonnie says Eddy.. :(  Nobody sells their childhood toys here in greece. If a parent is not sensitive enough to save them at a warehouse or an attic etc, they are thrown away, given away to less fortunate kids, or just distroyed while playing. We have no garage sales here or car boot sales, as nodody is interested in buying something second hand. Kinda considered as an embarrassment actually...

I have difficulty convincing relatives and close friends to give me their playmobil, not because they want to keep it and maybe sell them, but because they are bored to go looking for them. Although some people say to me, ''Playmobil? Grow up man! It would be nice to have them now though, I know they can sell good on the internet...'' :(

All these people don't have the sensitivity of a collector...boxes are not kept, they are thrown away, the toys inside the box is important for the kid.

Playmobil Hellas does not allow toystores to keep big cardboard displays, large klickies are turned back, even broken ones for recycling, front displays might end up to relatives of the toyshop owners but are usually turned back to Playmobil Hellas. No toy shop owner dares to help someone who wants to get the cardboards or the displays as Playmobil Hellas will be reluctant to conduct business with them again... Very strict rules.

Its nearly impossible to find an old toystore that keeps stock (playmobil is the toy that sells the most here), and even if they do, the prices would be just as high... I found a 3665 and 3667, both misb, at a small town a few weeks back and got them for 150 euros. They certainly cost less than these sets in ebay but this was a chance out of a hundred... And if you ask them if they know someone who knows someone, that someone will ask a fortune to give you the misb set...

I don't know how you do it, but If you have any suggestions Eddy, I'd welcome them  :)

Well I have quite a lot of double MISB sets  :D (before it is removed this is not a sales pitch, just a statement  :P).

Eddy

Ras, well I really just do it for no reason. I just put prices like that so each item can have a different price. Just for that, nothing special.  :)

Thank you also for the kind comments!

Click on the little globe symbol on his profile just above your post. It takes you to his Ebay store. :)
