Liebe Geobra B., we know you can make us a better samurai than this. Need only 1 new mould, + floral designs on his clothes and voila, a very historically correct samurai....but why not? :(

¿How you gonna raise the arms if the armor stops it?

good observation and point Andy-R ;)
...PM has those small knight's armours with smaller 'shoulder-points', I suppose if PM makes them, they'll similarly make the samurai's whatever-you-call these smaller too. It does lose the asthetic effect somewhat but I guess thats a better solution than having another clip-on shoulder(cuff?) which will look pretty silly when it turns with his arm
so no performing sasaki-kojiro's 'swallow-turn' with his sword ;D
any suggestions for me to try out? (or wait for Geobra to make a better one! )

Great suggetion Cheng!! I am backing you up!!!
-
Great work, cheng. But what if Geobra write back and say, "Oh no we can't!" ;D
-
thanks W-Knight! ;)

thanks dear friend ;D but I'll wait patiently (until and like they finally did, for Romans ;D) ...but meanwhile I'll just go on customising more Japanese ;)

Hey Cheng!
Check out the 4748 samurai, he cannot raise his arms either! I think that, to allow movement for the arms it would better to have the shoulder pads clipped upon the arms, not the chest.
I don't like this samurai's helmet, either. They could have use a mask with a grin and a fake moustache with another helmet. More like how I imagined a japanese armor, anyway.
I'll try to find a pic.
Cheers,
Arnaud

I agree, clipping the armor to his arms would allow him to move them 360*.
I also agree about the helmet,
It is just ugly! I much prefer the helmets we use now. :hmm:

cant agree with you more, Arnaud & WOT!! ;)
I hope they improve the 4748 which might be a 'pilot' test so guess we all still have to buy/support and hope for a full theme launch :P
yes, the 4748's shoulder armor should be separate like those clip-on puffy sleeves but mine are not shoulder pads, rather a continuation of his vest..
and the 4748's helmet could have been better ::)

hope 'Quoting' myself doesnt make me an egoist

I was wrong, Geobra already has a printed such 'samurai skirt'

where is that from?

My knights with arm armour cannot raise their arms all the way either, nor can my napoleonic officers who have shoulder regalia. So it wouldn't be unlike Playmobil for it to have that limitation. Or, perhaps the shoulder parts can be made of a rubbery material that allows for flexing? I may be mistaken, as I cannot recall specifically right now off hand, but I swear there are already klickies using such materials on accesories.....

agreed BPearl! like those 'fur' covers on our PM vikings, but they are not good for printing on..i hope PM will print some nice japanese motifs ;)
Bonniebeth & WOT,
i was going to put a trivial-pursuit question on this skirt but thought it would have been too easy, the photo was recently taken by one of our dear friends here. if nobody else can figure this out, I'll happily reveal it....here's another big clue:

I love PlaymoDB. ;)
Found her. ;D

WOW! That is an amazing discovery...
Thanks Cheng. :)

Wow! How did I never notice her skirt before? I could use that skirt for a modern klicky, really.
-
very cool custom cheg
i'm hoping that the recent asian figures (the cosack warrior, the samurai and the figure in the easter egg) are part of a sneak peek for an up coming ancient asian theme - maybe 2012?
-
BINGO WOT!
yes, Heather's PlaymoDb is the best reference site for us collectors! thanks always, Heather!
I must thank Wesley Myers for his 4251 Magic Castle Kitchen Review, his close-up photo of his Kitchen Maid will catapult her status from maid to samurai (not easy even for a seasoned foot-soldier to reach samurai status)
@Bonniebeth: modern klicky? has our girls' fashion gone a full cycle ;)? I thought they have yet to pass another bell-bottoms phase :P do show!

thanks Luis...many of us are hoping so too but by 2012, I'll have too many Asian customs to correct, come 2012 :-\ :'( :(

 I was thinking it could be a skirt for an old lady, or a really nerdy girl or something. :P
