Sashimono were small banners fitted to the backs of common soldiers (ashigaru) bearing clan symbols, most prominent during the Sengoku period (long civil war from the middle 15th to early 17th century)
for those of us who welcome Lego parts on our customs but do not allow stickers or spraying, these original Lego flags make perfect Playmo-sashimono(s) ;)

Very nice! I like! (and I have used Lego parts on my ship customs as well)
btw, I would not want to be the banner-carrying solder.... makes for an easy target!

thanks BPearl!
we can understand why he has this look on his face ;)
...the british (napoleonic) red coats wore white crosses (formed by their cross belts) while those maltese knights too had big targets over their torsos to assist even the worst enemy archer :P

Nope, he does not look happy... :o
Thanks for the info Cheng. :)
