There is a new toy shop in town (not our nearest one, but still close)
The shop's name is "Cuthbert's Toys" and is a Toymaster
(http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/9540/picture004tl.jpg) (http://img526.imageshack.us/i/picture004tl.jpg/)
(http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/672/picture005r.jpg) (http://img717.imageshack.us/i/picture005r.jpg/)
The shop iself was very nicely laid out. It was almost like an art gallery infact.
Along with Playmobil, there were large displays of Sylvanian Families, L***, Schleich and other top quality toys.
No tat at all ;D
The Playmobil display was impressive, but there wasn't an overly large range

I bought the 4832 with my Christmas money :elf:
Overall a very nice shop, and it's nice to see a new toyshop opening up, rather than closing down :)
Damo :)

Wow! I would love to see so many large klickys in person!
-
Me too.... and so many boxes!!!
Were those big clickies for sale too?
-
Me too.... and so many boxes!!!
Where those big clickies for sale too?
Unfortunately not, as they are not allowed to sell them :(
Damo :)
-
Not allowed?
-
Not allowed?
No, because they are apparently loaned to them by Playmobil. I have given up asking in shops now because I keep get the same answer
I think shops can also buy them, I'm not exactly sure :-\
Damo :)
-
Good, as you say, to see toy shops opening rather than closing but bad for your savings plans I imagine. :)
-
I wonder if it is possible to buy them from playmobil. :P
-
The only problem with new toyshops is that they have no old sets!!!
Its really wierd how people manage to get hold of the giant klickies... its impossible to buy directly from playmobil as they are only giving it to toyshops to indicate that playmobil are being sold here... I now for a fact that the giant klickies given by Playmobil Hellas to toyshops are borrowed... a toyshop owner is obliged to give them back to playmobil...
maybe some toysellers in other countries are indeed allowed to buy them...
-
That's a nice looking toy store! :)
-

They've got a large Egyptian figure in the window - but what Egyptian sets do they have?
-

Damo :)
Well, ok you bought them from someone who listed them on ebay, nothing wierd there! but how did that someone got hold of them in the first place... thats wierd... ???
-
You could call it weird, but I think we all know the answer! :P

I dont, and I'd certainly like to find out!!! I'd really like to have a pirate or a knight here... :( !
-

You're harboring all kinds of stolen goods, Damo!
Seriously, maybe it's just that if they are damaged playmobil doesn't want them back. So bring a hammer next time you go to that toystore. ;D
-
I don't know how it works in other countries, but if that was Argentina... the company probably would forget to collect them so the owner of the shop could end up with a lot of those.... or the owner would close his business, not bothering to tell anyone, which is legal, and so he can take everything out of his shop.... go find him!

Sooooooooooooooo, the charge sheet gets longer:
1. possession of a road traffic sign in doubtful circumstances owned by Pittgsburgh governmental authority
2. possible civil responsibility for any accidents resulting from said sign not being in its proper place
3. obtaining giant klickies
4. possession of giant klickies
Things don't look good for you, Damo!

I've found an article on the town's website about the opening of the new shop:
http://www.lgchf.com/news/2010/new_toy_store_opens (http://www.lgchf.com/news/2010/new_toy_store_opens)
And it mentions Playmobil!!!! :woohoo:
Basically all the brands it mentions in the article, are the only ones it does!
At last, A QUALITY TOYSHOP!!!! :woohoo:
:cham: :cham: :cham:
-
I want one here!
-
Yes, you are very lucky to have such a nice toys store so near! The closest one is TRS, with a horrible PM selection  You'll find I complain about that a lot. Thank goodness for the Internet :yup:
Thanks for sharing the pics!

He's the Playmofan with no name. (There could be a film title in that.)
-
That does sound like a good mystery movie. But I think it would have to be about WoT!
-
About those 65 cm figures: you can´t buy them from Playmobil, not even a shopowner can. All displayed figures belong to geobra and go back into their stock after end of use.
But shopowners can buy these large BIIIIIG boxes to sell specials and they come with a figure standing on a column in the middle of that box. These boxes are expensive and because of that not too many shops buy them. These are the figures you can buy if the shopowner doesn´t use the box anymore.
The prices on ebay explode right now- price for one figur ranges from 130 to 250 euros at the moment which is totally crazy.
There are 8 different figures: a girl, a young man, a postman, a THW-man, a pirate, 2 different knights and a construction worker.
Greetings Martina

Thanks for this info, Martina

Thank you for these, Martina :)
I'm not sure I like the look of that knight really :-\ - It looks like a kid in themed pyjamas :P

The only problem with new toyshops is that they have no old sets!!!
well and the old toystores don't have very old sets perhaps if some sets are big and expensive to find them if they are 4-5 years discontinioud not older..... in large toystores there is not any possibility to have sets older than a year (jumbo, moustakas etc... in greece)

Thanks for the information....
It cleared the mystery...now my major concern is how to get one

Do you guys think Geobra will officially release these 65cm klickies?
Have you guys ever been to the Malta airport?? I think those 10feet tall (my guesstimate) gigantic klickies are the best!!! And Geobra should retire those 5-feet ones.
-
... And Geobra should retire those 5-feet ones.
:shhhh: Don't let Kirkbean Ken hear you say that ;D
