Although we are supposed to be by the gulf stream, it has been so cold this week that there was ice floating in the sea here.
On Christmas Eve Junior took these photos for me (I was busy finishing making gifts for the three wise men to carry!)
This is just outside our garden - in Southern Scotland!

I loved the kayak one, I'd never tried putting one on the water before, but Junior said it floated really well.

A few more photos from different angles -
Junior had got the sea on a slope in this one, but I liked the way that it looked as if the kayak was being paddled so I rotated it until the sea was in line!

Two more of the lone polar bear and the ice flows...

He had thought of taking some with seals, but his feet were cold so he came in!
Hope you like them, I know I'm his mum, but I was very impressed with them.

Oh, these really do look great! The polar bear and eskimo look very happy to be out in the water and ice. ;) Very good pics, and the sea is so beautiful as a backdrop.

Amazing pictures Elaine! :wow: I love the one with the kayak turning! The snow makes the pics look so real!

btw, is that a new avatar, elaine?

Thank you all ... I'll pass your comments on to Junior.
Yes Bonnie, I decided I needed a winter avatar. The cats aren't on this one as they were busy sleeping in the comfort of a warm room, but I feed the seagulls and they always gather whenever I go outside, so they are in this one. -
This is the first photo I took, but there were a few too many seagulls in it!

BE CAREFUL, Elaine! You're smaller than they are! I'd hate to resort to sorting through sea gull poo to find you !

Excellent photos, Elaine, and you have every right to be proud of Junior's work as they show a good eye for composition.

The idea of making a Playmobil calendar is wonderful :!: This would be a perfect November picture, and for December a Christmas scene, and so on.....
Anyway, these pictures are absolutely stunning! Thanks!
