Title: A well-timed power outage
Post by: bonniebeth on December 24, 2010, 04:38:29
We were having some rewiring done at our house this past week, so on monday our electricity had to be turned off for the whole day, and as it happened, I was going to be home the whole day. Well, first thing in the morning, the doorbell rang, and it was the mailman with two packages from ebay. One was this set new in box.

So I had a good time putting that together. It's a neat set btw. The plants are attached to floats, so when you water them they actually grow!

Anyhow, the other box was a lot of loose pieces from these two sets: http://playmodb.org/setpics/3634.jpg
and http://playmodb.org/setpics/3650.jpg neither one complete. But it gave me the parts I needed for my animal nursery, where my baby jaguars are being hand-raised.

When I was a little girl, we had a baby cheetah at our zoo that had to be hand raised, and they had it set up in a room like this with a big viewing window. Of course, it didn't have sliding doors...  :P

A great addition to your collection, Bonnie.  I didn't know about the floating plants.  With the allotment set, you get some cress seeds which you can plant in the beds and they grow up through the holes for the Playmobil plants.

I like the hand rearing house, an excellent addition to your zoo.  Where did the baby cheetahs come from?  Are they customs or original Playmobil?

Wow BB! the first one is a lovely set! I really like it! The growing plants are geniuos! Why didn't they win a price just for that?  :D
Is it a rare set? I never saw it on ebay.....

@Playmofire. The baby cheetas are from the wild animal care station #4826 and the safari hut#5907
I don't know if they come in some other set also

Thanks, everyone! Gaston is right; those baby leopards/cheetahs/jaguars are new in the safari sets. And of course the black ones are just kittens I added in to represent melanistic jaguars, otherwise known as black panthers.
