Hello this is the final call to choose your champion in the upcoming Winterhaven Jousting Tournament.
There is a whole topic here. (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=5834.0) But I thought to give a small update and do a last call.
We currently have 29 participants (2 mystery ones) and I want to have a field of 32. Here is a list of the particpants and their coat of arms as well as which are still available.

So please choose your champion if you haven't done so and particpate in the First Jousting Tournament! I have heard that other are planning to do them as well so it we might have a whole circuit on our hands :-)
For this one I will keep the rules simple and in this post I will only go into the tournament structure. I will go into the Match structure later this week when I have a bit more time.
The participants will be divided into 8 different poules of four. They will face of against all opponents in their poule. The numbers 1 and 2 will advance to the top 16. It will then be single elimination.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The plan is that I will start with the pictures in roughly two weeks. So if you want to participate please let me know before the 23rd of December.
(more background photo stories on Winterhaven in the coming weeks as well!)

How do I play exactly?

Just pick your champion from the ones available. You don't have to actually own that particular knight. Gis has them all. Other than a name and background story for your knight, Gis is doing all the work. (thanks Gis) :xmascheer: :xmascheer:

Thanks for covering for me el jefe :-)
And I am really enjoying it! So my pleasure :-)

You don't even really have to do a backstory, do you?
-
Hmmm, with two knights in the tourney, my money is on Gis!
-
Well they are the resident Knight of Winterhaven and the Crown Prince of Winterhaven so the3y are essential for the story :-)
I "might" have another knight that will be entering the tournament because I really "really" like him :-) But more in that in the near future.

Glad you asked Arnaud :)!!! Its a long story so if you can bare with me for a few minutes, here is my answer... Gis already knows of course... or does he ;) ?
The 3315 - Black Knight (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3315) (who is not an evil knight in my book, and indeed at the red dragon interactive story from playmobil you'll see he is close to the good king of 3268 - Knights' Empire Castle (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3268)) that I chose for the tournament is the klicky that brought me back into collecting playmobil in 2006...
This klicky reminded me of a Paladin character I had played in a Dungeons and Dragons game back in 2000 and I had named that character Baldthar. This name is a combination of the following two names: Baldwin IV of Jerusalem (1161-1185), and Lothar (a fictional character from the Warcraft PC strategy game, also know as Supreme Commander of the Alliance, Lion of Azeroth, Knight Champion of Azeroth, Champion of Stormwind, Knight of the Realm, King's Champion). Baldthar fell from grace (because he refuse to slaughter a whole infested village as he was ordered to do so by his order) but did not turn evil, he is a Lawful-Neutral (d&d definition) character and he devoted himself to justice, always walking a fine line between good and evil...
The 3315 klicky has features that characterise them as evil, yes, but he also holds the double axe...In Yoruba (Nigeria, West Africa) mythology, the double blade axe symbolizes Orisha Shango (god of thunder and lightning). The god of double bladed axe represent the quick and balanced justice (i've studied social and cultural anthropology).
As for changing my username Arnaud... I don't think so... I thought about it for a while... It was indeed my intention to use the name Baldthar here at Playmofriends, but since it was a name I used in Playmoboard for the three to four months I was a member before it closed down, I thought that a playmobil knight faction name would be more appropriate here, not to say that Wolf Knight signified a new beginning for me (ok I also love these bronze colour wolf knights  )! :knight:

Hey Panos!
I knew you'd answer fast! Thanks for the explanation, I'd been wondering for a while...
Cheers,
Arnaud
PS: What are the odds to get 50 times 12, when rolling 2d6 fifty times? Did I get lucky?
Just kidding!
