They are about £4 to £5 from UK DS, but that includes batteries, or it always has in the past.  I'll try and find a recent invoice in the next day or so and check for you.  The US price may be different, of course.

Are you thinking of the special edition recycling truck which came without the flashing orange lights?  I think that was just a stop gap before a new recycling truck comes out.  I bought the flashing orange light from UK DS and that was about half the price of the blue one but came without batteries, which probably explains the price difference.  The price seems reasonable to me, after all, you are getting a quality piece of electronic equipment.

thank you. I find the price very reasonable, some of the flashing led light that are to scale (non-playmo) cost more than $40.00 USD.

I had a clear out recently of old DS invoices, so I'll enquire of the price from UK DS and get back to you.

The flashing light on the vehicles have changed over the years.
They used to take AAA batteries and ran at three volts with filament lamps.
The new ones use LEDs and have two three volt flat batteries.
Hope this may be of help.

Yes, and the lorry from set 4084 - Mega Construction Set (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4084)

I suppose you are right about getting a quality piece of electronics :yup:

But that set was made for a store and they may have wanted to keep costs down.

Clong, the light is available from UK DS at £4.35.  I don't know what that is in dollars.

What you do is use google's currency converter. You type "4.35 GBP in USD" in your google search box and you get 6.84! i discovered this recently. I love it.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.  I was thinking more of how it compared with the same part from US DS - assuming they have it available.   Certainly in the past Playmobil prices between the UK and USA didn't appear to follow any pattern of exchange rates - the £ sign was simply replaced by the $ sign!

What a weird piece of software that Google currency converter is - doesn't the writer know about using alphabetical order in lists?   ???
