Mine was mini Bob, and the only one I had until I got a replacement :)

This is when it is a real pain that Klicky parts cannot be ordered :(

My thoughts exactly...now I have to find a klicky with similar legs, wait for a few more interesting listings, and get a new lot that will probably take a week or so to arrive...at least I have an excuse to get a few more...but its frastrating to reschedule when I could be done already...

Aww, that's a shame. A little casualty of customization.

By the way, I discovered by accident the other day that on the little teenagers from the skatboarding set, the ones wearing baggy pants, their feet pop out. I thought for a split second that I had broken one of them and was about to get very upset, when I realized it comes out!

Using the "hans-on" method, i hit it really hard on the floor without raising the arms a lot...this was one of the 4602 specials and usually these klickies are quite hard to dismanlte... three incorrect hits...and the work was done...

I can see how that would happen... such a shame.  :'(

yeah some clickies are harder that others. for me it is impossible to dismantle Egyptians with that method. I bended one's knee....in the wrong angle....auch! So I use the screwdriver method since then..... poor fella.  ;D
BTW... I never hit the clicky when using the "hans on" method but press it between my hands with a piece of clothing. You have more control of the strength you have to use.  ;)

hans on method and spanish method...are the same?  ???

Yeah chris squeezes them rather than hit them when using the hans-on method, but I just can't seem to break them that way. I guess my "hans"  :P just aren't strong enough. I like to hit them on the rug because it gives them a little cushion. I don't know if it helps keep them from breaking, but maybe at least it's less painful for their poor little backsides.  I haven't broken any so far...

Nope, the spanish method is the one with the rubber band around the klicky's head...never worked for me...

A piece of clothing...hmmm I guess it would not do much good in the case of 90's klickies...they are the hardest to dismantle...

I usually hit them on the rag or a on the kitchen board...these days I just hit them on the floor...cruelty...too much...cruelty... :-[

Here is a very usuful video by Martin  ;)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kiczou4_ts   Good thinking with the cardboard...its protecting both legs and the lower torso line!

That's too bad, Panos. :'(  I had that happen once on a klicky too.

I use the hans-on method too, but I hit the klicky on a rug on the floor.

Oh, the cardboard is essential. It isn't only to protect from scratches, but it gives proper leverage. I find them almost impossible to take apart without the cardboard.

Yes!  The cardboard is vital for both of these reasons.

I use a phone book- seems to be just the right combo of firmness and cushion.

Hi all,

I had the same problem when I started customising (booted legs breaking). Then I started swapping out the original legs from the klicky I was disassembling and inserting a pair of 'old style' legs, i.e., ones that are less likely to break and, even if they do break, won't be so great a loss. It takes slightly longer, but I no longer break the legs I want to keep!

Then I proceed with the 'hans-on' method. I usually exert pressure slowly rather than hitting, but sometimes a short, sharp shock is necessary. I always use a folded-up piece of cloth as a cushion.

Cheers,

AndrewL
