I had offered to set up some Christmas scenes at our Christmas Produce Market for the children from the local school who visit to spend their pocket money, however last Tuesday I found out that they couldn't come to the Christmas market and would be coming to last Friday's market instead so I was asked if I could set up a display for that. It was rather a rush and some things had to be left out, but here is what I set up for them.
It was put together in a freezing hall in 2 hours on Thursday evening ... by the time I had finished my hands were so cold I could hardly take the photos!
First I decided to show Father Christmas arriving at a little house in the woods, where the local wildlife also were enjoying a Christmas get together!

(the Christmas tree should have been in the house but James was 'helping' and he'd taken it out - I couldn't face moving everything again!
Looking down on the garden ...

The badgers arrive to join in the feast ...

The young foxes are not sure what to make of the carrots ...

But the deer and the rabbits tuck in ...

Meanwhile up on the roof Father Christmas is preparing to go down the chimney ...

The next scene was a Christmas Market / Children's Nativity Play

The carousel is about to start, and someone is waiting for a present from Santa-Claus...
(one of the 'shields' from the carousel 'disappeared' while I was setting it up, I looked everywhere but couldn't find it ... it eventually turned up under the sleigh! :-[

One little boy got in a tantrum because he couldn't go on the carousel and lay down in the snow! ;D

Another little boy got just what he wanted from Santa-Claus ...

The busy market was a good place for old friends to meet ...

The stall holders were kept busy ...

People enjoyed listening to the Christmas music ...

Parents enjoyed the music the children played ...

While in the background the angel led the three kings to the stable in the school nativity play ...

The next scene I did was of Santa arriving at an eskimo camp ...

Everyone is waiting to greet him ...

Even the polar bears were watching ...

I was going to do Santa arriving at a ski resort but I left that at home. :-[
All the school children loved the displays and I have been asked to do it again for the Christmas Market so I'll try and remember the ski slope then!
I finished off with my Nativity set to fill the gap.

I enjoyed doing this as there are some lovely Christmas sets, especially the new ones out this year, and we don't often have the opportunity to display them. I would have liked to have spent more time on it, but was quite pleased with it all the same and it's introduced a few more people to Playmobil!

I love it. What a great way to use the extra angels as children in a nativity scene. I never knew of the eskimo sets, I will have to research them.
Thanks for sharing.

Just saw this, LOVE the snow on top of the house... and the best part is the way that Santa is looking down the chimney...
Also liked the idea of the polar scene (love those guys - I'm jealous of how white your igloos look)
