Hello, new to this site but been a Playmobil fan since early childhood. As a kid my favorite sets were Medieval castle, western cowboys and indians, Civil War, and pirates. Unfortunately, sometime probably during my highschool years the large part of my playmobil collection (with the exception of select knights, as well as all my native american set) were sold for basically nothing at a garage sale. I have begun trying to replenish my castle collection, especially the 1990's yellow dragon black/purple knights which are my favorite knight standard. I was blessed to find someone (who clearly didn't know the value) selling 3 boxes of brand new Purple Dragon knights set of 3 and got them all for under $50. Ebay and Amazon is where I have bought things so far. However after looking briefly at some of the pictured extensive setups posted either on this site or linked, I seem to think you folks must buy playmobil figures by bulk somehow from a factory or something. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated so that I can expand my knights collection!

Hello and  :welcome: from Louisiana!
Most of us i think have built up our collections either by buying directly from playmobil or from ebay to buy older stuff. Some of the members here have been collecting for many, many years. my collection is very humble compared to a lot here, but you would be surprised how fast your collection starts expanding after a while. The percentage of your income spent on playmos will slowly creep up.  Happy ebaying!

Thanks everyone, currently the only pic of any of my playmo's is my native americans. I just did a simple setup yesterday to take some pics which I will be using to sell them on ebay or something.
If I have time I will post pics, but they are nothing big.

				Welcome from Western Canada.
Garage sales and online sales sites like kijiji and craigslist are very good for finding Playmobil at cheaper prices.
I too wonder about a lot of the stuff pictured on here and wonder what lottery(ies!) I would have to win to be able to have a fraction of what some seem to have ...

Have you explored the possibility of buying individual figures directly from Playmobil, as Bonnie has mentioned? :)
The US have their own spare parts department which handles this type of ordering. The only downside is that they do not always have the items in stock. Also, it is easier to order recently released figures (i.e. those found in current sets or only a few years old) than it is to buy ones from sets which have been discontinued for several years.
You'll find more information about this by browsing this area of the forum:

I too collect and used to collect the Knight and Western themes.  I stopped buying Playmobil when I entered my teens and, unfortunately, my mother got rid of all my sets too.

welcome from sf.  i winced when i read about almost everything being sold at a garage sale, but hopefully there is a child out there who has become as passionate about playmobil as we all seem to be.  thanks for the photos.  beautiful sets.  i love the weaving one.
