Hi all,
My efforts to create an archive of sets available to the UK market got a big boost the other week when I won 4 more 80's catalogues of ebay.
I appear to be only missing 3 catalogues now for the years 83, 87 and 88/89.
In the collector guide 3rd edition it shows a 1983 catalogue with a fire engine on the front on page 623. I now believe that this is actually the 1982 catalogue due to information I received from another fan back in 2002 who was given some old catalogues from the late Norman Brown. In the Email the catalogues mentioned are, Space themed cover (81), a fire engine (82) and park (87) and a catalogue with the year 83 on it.
I have never seen a catalogue for 83 or 88/89 yet so if anyone has them or any other catalogue not shown in this post if you can please post an image of them here.
1st image copy of paragraph from email, 2nd image 1981 cat, 3rd image 1981 cat version 2 taken from ebay, 4th image 1982 cat.

Heres the next 4, image 4 is I believe 1988 and is the earliest that I have showing DS items in it on the back pages.
-
Heres the last 2.
As soon as I find the missing ones I will be able to work out an accurate time line for the sets.
Also if anyone has any DS catalogues fro 1990 to 1997 i would like to know about them as well.
Garry.

That's a great collection of catalogues!!! I have often wished I had kept the catalogues from sets I had as a little girl.

Love those old catalogs. I especially love the dioramas using the frame houses.

Are the missing ones you are needing the large, medium, or small size types?

The first 2 are A4 sized 81 and 82 and all the others are A5.
So I'm not sure if 1983 is A4 or A5 because this seems to be the year that they changed size.
These are not the small mini leaflets these are the full catalogues that you would get from Playmobil stockists.

OK, sorry, but I only have the small & medium size booklets.

Congratulations, Gary, and thanks for showing us the latest additions to your collection. As flatcat says, those illustrations are wonderful.

This must be the 1983 I guess:

I have some doubts about whether this is a 1983 or a 1983/84 catalog, because for instance the schoolbus 3521 was released in 1983 and the kiosk in 1984, or this information is simply not correct. So it is either the 1983 or the 1983/84 catalog. There is no date printed on the catalog, so it will be second guessing.

A random pic from the catalog which has 16 pages.

Marx-Toys dealer catalogs which features many pages of stunning Playpeople sets and background displays. These are the best :)

That's the 1987 catalogue.
It shoud be A5 in size.
Does it have the address for Playmobil UK, Australia and New Zealand on the back?
Also does it have any pages of DS items in the back of it?
