I know that Damo thinks I'm mad...
but I was very excited to receive these parcels...
Meet Kirkbean Ken! ...
He is the ex lifeboatman that Damo pointed out to us in this thread:
http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=6181.0
"Thank you Damo" :thanks:
I know he needs a lot of work, but when he arrived I was pleasantly surprised because he wasn't as bad as I'd thought and didn't seem to have sustained any damage on the 260 mile journey. Junior was a little disappointed though, he thought the second parcel might have contained the spaniel!
I plan to have his neck repaired then repaint him back to being the fireman he is supposed to be. :fireman:
I think he looks happy to be here! and me? ... I'm thrilled! :cheerlead:

That's great news! :D
Good to see that "Ken" has found a loving new home. 8-)
-
Congratulations on your new acquisition, Elaine! Be sure to show us the results of your refurbish project!
-
Oh, that's so awesome! I've always wanted a giant klicky!
-
That's pretty cool!
And here I thought when I first looked that those boxes were full of individual Playmobil figures (the small sized ones).
-
Congratulations Elaine!!! Good to see Ken got to be at a fine home!!! Pity the spaniel was not with him though!!!
Looking forward to his renovation!!!
-
OMG He made it in one piece!!! :confetti: :confetti: :confetti: :confetti: :confetti: :confetti:
I can't wait to see him bought back to life :cloud9:
BTW, I pressume his head came in one of those boxes? - that would have been a funny suprise for an unexpecting postal worker
Damo :)

Actually his head and arms were in the second box 8}
Does anyone know what you call the colour for his jacket - not that I'm able to renovate him yet. I'm quite busy up to Christmas.
Might just dress him in a Santa suit and put him in a corner of the lounge as a Christmas decoration!

Congratulations, Elaine, that's a good buy (although I wonder of your husband will be thinking of "good bye" to it when he finds out?)
The colour for his jacket is described as dayglow orange or safety orange. The standard coloir name for it is RAL 2005 and here's a link:

If there is a Halford's near you that does made to order aerosol paint sprays, they can make it up to you with that information, RAL 2005

Great buy Elaine. Have fun with him!!

great find, Ms. Elaine!
OT, reminds me of something I've heard more than once, that some women prefer men who are "fixer-uppers," as in rough around the edges and can be, with some effort, re-fashioned to her desired specifications to create the perfect standard, lol; this could be a literal representation of this metaphor, lol :D

Great buys Elaine and congrats on this big guy! :)9 I hope too I could get one some day!
