Welcome Linda
You'll find lots of ideas here, whatever your budget. For those of us who have to make our recession hit sterling go further there is great fun ;D in shopping around for bargains be they special offers, charity shop sales or eBay bids.

Welcome Linda!
We all love Playmobil for its indestructibility by anything short of fire or maybe crushing with a steamroller.
I think a lot of American parents fail to realise that they are buying a toy that lasts generations, and see it as too expensive, when actually spread out over its lifetime (potentially infinite) it's very cheap.
cheers, Martin

Hi Linda! On top of the durability, one of the things I love about Playmobil is watching kids combine totally different sets in crazy ways. Your grandchildren are lucky!

Hi Linda,
Welcome from Southern Scotland (http://planetsmilies.net/flag-smiley-7326.gif)
I can understand being on a budget! In fact apart from sets that have been bought as Christmas or birthday presents for my children, the majority of my collection is second hand from ebay: either sets I have managed to get at a bargain price because they were wrongly described or bits and pieces bought and added to other bits and pieces. You can check out what can be made with bits and pieces here:

It has taken me 10 years of bargain hunting to get this far though!
