Hi, I'm Christina and I'm on the west coast of Canada. My younger brother had an extensive playmobil collection when we were little, and I played with it a bunch. My almost-3 son showed signs of interest in a playmobil catalog over the summer and I remembered how much fun it had been, so picked up a plane off of craigslist. He LOVES it and so do I. There are now several circus, farm and outdoors sets hidden away for Christmas, he's getting a firetruck, ambulance and fire station for his birthday from my very generous in-laws, and I can't wait to dig through my parents' attic next time we visit to see what vintage stuff is in there.
I was motivated to sign up after a google search turned up the posts here on sets available at Winners and Costco Canada, so thank you for those!

They're still there, and I think have opened another branch on Main Street. I was just in the store on Hallowe'en checking out their selection and trying not to get too covetous.

Happy to read that they're still there, Christina. When we would come over to the mainland from Vancouver Island, The Granville Island Toy Company (http://www.toycompany.ca/) would be the first place my wife and I would head for. Actually, it wasn't too much of a hardship for Susan as, I'm sure you know, there are many other wonderful shops on Granville Island ... ;) ...
And, for those of you who don't know ... if you are ever fortunate enough to visit beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ... do not miss going to Granville Island (http://www.granvilleisland.com/discover-island)!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. David, I haven't been to Toy Traders, thanks for the tip! Though I'm not sure my wallet or toy/floor space thank you. My son just told me this morning he doesn't want any toys for his birthday or Christmas, crazy child. I'm pretty sure he will change his mind once he sees the playmobil.
We've been watching stop-motion playmobil videos on youtube, and I'm hoping that as he gets older we can do some projects like that.
