I've had this diorama built for over a month and only got to taking photos Monday. I've had to rush a bit since I am out of town Friday through Sunday. So my clever plans for a photo story went out the window. Instead I will post a long series of photos (62!) with captions relating to this year's Halloween Party at The Halloween Castle. It's basically a tour of the castle and it's inhabitants and guests. There will be a few new faces and some familiar ones as well. I will start out with the story-tour and finish with full shots of the diorama.
Our adventure begins with the arrival of a black coach (custom paint job I did this summer - the tack is all regular pieces just the stagecoach was painted)

So that's it for this year. If you have any questions about things or would like to see any other close ups or views let me know and I can do a few more photos next week. I will probably tear it all apart the first weekend in November to start on the Santa Castle or other winter scenes.
Now if some guest comedian who shall remain nameless would post the Playtuga story you might see what was in this space prior to the Halloween Castle. Hinty hint hint ;D
-

Thanks for the great "overview" photos, Tim!
This is a HUGE display. However, your fantastic photos made it appear even larger. Well done!
Without a doubt, your "Wizard's Workshop" is definitely your "pièce de résistance"!
Tim, I have been through your incredible photos several times. And, I keep coming back to your cleverly painted autumn tree. Very clever!
Looking at your cornucopia of individual characters, and their variety of costumes, makes me a bit envious about the kaleidoscope of loony toon dreams that must entertain you every night ...
Thank you for your wonderful Halloween treat, Tim!
All the best and Happy Halloween,
Richard

You've created a wonderful Halloween Castle this year, Tim! I really like all the different clever rooms in it and all the intricate details. All the charming, diverse characters really make it a marvelous creation. Well done! :wow: :wow: :wow:
-
Thanks all. I was very happy with how the autumn leaves turned out. I used acrylic paint, first a layer of Naples Yellow - a sort of flat middle yellow/tan color, and then brightened it up with some yellow and light orange brushed on lightly but with wet paint so it settled onto the leaf pattern. I will probably do more next year. Before I can do Santa's castle I have to take this one apart, so it may be a while. I will post when I have something.

I assembled her myself using the head from the Roman arena statues with old Color series parts.
