HI!
I guess this is no news to most of you, but it was really a surprise for me. Last night my brother in law lend me a western set, (a wagon) for a photostory. I was surprised to see the horses and realise that the saddle is one part with the body. I mean it is attached and they are a unique plastic piece, as shown in pictures.

I know for a fact that is a European set (not Antex nor Troll) but I have the feeling it is not german. There are some mold marks.
Maybe from Famobil? Does anyone know something else about these type of horses?
Cheers
Gaston.

Horses like that were made by Schaper in the U.S. I don't know of a European maker that did them.
-
Interesting.
I knew it was brought to argentina by a relative in the late 80's from Europe. So I suppossed they were european... but could be made in the US and bought in europe... that make sense.
thanx Tiermann

I have about ten of these from various ebay lots over the years, but surely they can't all be from the US :-\

I have a few of them too, again from ebay lots! Tim is correct, bit I also think there were a few of these in the european market as well!

It's a "tarte à la crême" of playmobil search !
First designed by Schaper and then distributed in Europe in indians sets mostly (France, Spain, Germany for sure / probably also in Belgium, Netherlands and so on)

Sweetking, what do you mean by tarta a la creme? I understand the words, but I do not understand the saying.
Is it the same as the dogs bo...cats whiskers?
About these horses, I remember seeing one or two in the seventies here in Holland. Only one or two mind you.

A "tarte à la crème" is a recurrent topic in newspapers or in movies (remember all these movies with people receiving some cream pies in the face...).
In newspaper, you will find on a yearly basis topics like : Graduation ceremonies, spring is for soon, raise of unemployment, and so on...
In case of playmobil identification, the most recurrent topic is, as far I can say, Schaper horse.
Not all schaper horses look like this one, only a few but in 4 or 5 different colours.
