Title: samurai wars peasants
Post by: cheng on October 06, 2010, 01:26:25
The Japanese ashigaru were conscripted foot-soldiers of medieval Japan.....mostly landless peasants....farmers, fishermen forced into the wars between feuding lords (just like their western counterparts  :P )

Amazing! :o
The fur coats adds so much to their appearance. :)

I wish I had more, I could use them for
a few of my new customs... 8-)

Great work Cheng,
I can't wait to see more awesome customs! ;D

Great customs, cheng.        The fur jackets and belts are a great touch, as is the choice of "weapons".  (They certainly don't look very happy about being "recruited".  I get the impression that an officer has just exited left!)

My thoughts was that he wasn't happy because he was wearing a bowtie in his hair *grin*

are you planning to turn our 'military' fur coats into fashion staements Elaine?  ;D
they are from our playmo vikings
...as for my japanese peasants, they are not fur but made from dried grass to keep off the rain  ;)

Oh. I thought they were fur too… Perhaps you could consider painting them to discourage further confusion…

no worries Andy, Gordon too thought they are furs   ;D

but like the soft materials for spears/swords, these 'fur' are too flexible and sprayed paint will just peel off after handling a few times.  :P
I thought there were light brown ones(which will pass as dried grass) but mine are all light grey so I've hypnotised myself to see them as dirtied grass vests  maybe someday i'll replace them when i get my hands on brown ones  ;)
