Title: Playmo Version Of Brooke Bond Tea Advert
Post by: skypurr on October 05, 2010, 22:32:51
Those in the UK of a certain age will remember TV adverts for Brooke Bond Tea using chimpanzees.
We had been talking about these and having watched them on youtube I just had to make a Playmobil version!

I would suggest that those who don't know these watch this link first!

Here's my version of 'Mr Shifter & Son'

I must take you to task, Elaine. I am of a certain age, NOT in the UK, but remember this advert from my youth.  ;D

Fantastic work, brings back many happy memories.

Actually the 'aprons' and hair/hats had to be held on with bluetack

Junior said I should have made it into a stop motion film but that is far too advanced for me  :-[
He did however play the youtube version and scroll down the photos to fit it and that was quite good!

Wonderful!!! I very much enjoyed your Playmobilized version. :wow:

I know of these commercials even though they are not a part of my childhood. They sometimes pop up on those retrospective TV shows. :)

Thank you Sylvia, Linda and Ali ..  Unfortunately I remember them all from the first time around!
I'd like to have a go at another of the adverts and have a couple in mind, it's just a case of finding all the pieces I need ... and the time!

Ms Elaine, well done!

I must ask about your stageset:  do you have a customized mansion there with a two-story-high entry way with partial 2nd floor/railing like that?  And the use of the single sunroom style window?  Or are these just pieces you kinda just placed temporarily for show for the photos? (I notice the stairs doesn't seem to sit flush against the perpendicularly-turned flooring.)

If it is indeed a custom mansion, I'd like to see more pics and behind-the-scenes how-tos!  do tell, if you please!

Again, very nicely done!  Bravo!
