Just wanted to drop in and formally say "hi."
I'd stumbled here a few times previously looking for info and sets and RC conversions of Playmobil boats, and figured it was time to join in the fun.
I've known about Playmobil since I was a kid, but never owned any until just this past Christmas when I purchased some for my kids. I was so impressed by the attention to detail, I just had to get some of my own. I started with the nautical expedition stuff before deciding I really wanted to focus of the pirates. It's made for a lot of fun with my 7-year-old son and 3-year old twins. My 11-year-old daughter is mortified her dad still plays with toys. ::)
My other collecting habit is Transformers...I was fortunate to hang on to all of mine from '84 and up.
Here are a couple pics from our Florida vacation this year...Playmo made the trip with us.

:welcome: Welcome to Playmofriends from South Carolina USA, racerx ! I like the pictures of your Playmobil in action! I have a question in regards to the Nautical Exploration theme ships. I have 2 & find they do not float up right in my pool very well. They take on water & capsize. Does this happen to yours too?

Hi! :D
Welcome from the Scottish Highlands.
Thanks for introducing yourself and for posting these lovely photos!
My 11-year-old daughter is mortified her dad still plays with toys. ::)
Ha ha! :D This is probably because you have only recently started buying Playmobil and playing with it. In a few years time, she will hopefully be used to it and even helping you to expand the collection. ;)

Thanks for the welcomes!

Yes, the expedition ship is particularly bad...especially when I put the little submersible on the deck. It's really top heavy. The underwater motor helps a little, but not much.
The pic in the ocean was hard to take. I had to have my wife let it go and jump out of the way, as I had about a three second window before the slightest wave swamped it. You'll notice I've removed everything on the boat that's not firmly secured.

As it was I had to retrieve the roof of the cabin every time it came adrift in the breakers.

Hi Racerx, welcome form Buenos Aires Argentina!!! Those pics of your boat on open sea give me the chills! I used to do that on vacation when I was a kid and I was sooooo terrified that I would loose something in the water!!!!! I kept doing it though. I just now think I didn't really enjoy it. I was too afraid! I LOVED to play in the pool!!!
Cheers!

As I like to say, your 11-year-old is just a little too YOUNG for toys at the moment. She'll get over it!

Welcome from Southern Scotland (http://planetsmilies.net/flag-smiley-7326.gif)
Loved your photos.
The sea here is a bit too cold and grey today for sailing boats (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-gen125.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

Not yet; my wife had just picked up a new waterproof camera and we were trying it out on vacation.
It's not Playmo related, but we did take a few photos and videos of my R/C submarine.
