Title: Another Spending Spree!
Post by: flatcat on September 20, 2010, 08:00:23
I am just hopeless. I am supposed to be saving my money for important things, and not buying more big Playmobil because I haven't the money or room.

However that soon went out the window

(http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/2750/201001310007.jpg) (http://img215.imageshack.us/i/201001310007.jpg/)

(http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2734/201001310008.jpg) (http://img153.imageshack.us/i/201001310008.jpg/)

(http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2827/201001310009.jpg) (http://img36.imageshack.us/i/201001310009.jpg/)

(http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/6063/201001310010.jpg) (http://img227.imageshack.us/i/201001310010.jpg/)

(http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6484/201001310011.jpg) (http://img827.imageshack.us/i/201001310011.jpg/)

All the sets are about 98-99% complete. The farytale castle is missing 2 Klickies and a few small parts.

I had a tip off (from myself) that there was going to be a second hand toy stall at a steam and country fair that I went to yesterday (so annoyed because I forgot to take the camera).

I wasn't dissappointed. It was a display like at the conventions - bags and boxes of loose sets and Klickies.

Anyway I think I made her day because Playmobil didn't seem to be one of there big sellers (there was still Playmobil that I saw on her stall 3 years ago)

The house was priced at £45, the fairytale castle at £30, and the other bits varied prices, and in total they all added up to £123.50, and without any sort of bargaining, she called it a round £100.

£100 I wasn't expecting to spend, but oh well

I think I payed way over what it's worth, what do you think? (These sorts of sets are out of my knowledge area) :-[

Damo have you seen the prices on playmospace vehicles on ebay? Here is an example:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Playmobil-3537-Driller-Raumschiff-Space-Weltall-OVP-/250644350691?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrKind_Spielzeug_Playmobil&hash=item3a5b9146e3

And this castle is awesome!! There was one on sale, probably the last in the toys shop at the other end of town for 150 euros.... When I decided to get it it wasn't there any more!  :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: And its much better than the more recent one!!!!

and the house costs a lot too!!!

I think you got a good bargain for 100 GBP

The magic set alone, with the tree, can also cost about 20 GBP.... The passenger form the schooner is also hard to get and very expensive...I saw one for about 15 GBP...

Ah, ok, that sounds promising! :yup:

I was thinking of customising the playmospaces into vehicles for construction theme, but I think I'll leave them as they are

The fairytale castle is absolutely amazing. The coolest part is that it has an attic!

 :-[

Thanks, Panos! :)

Great haul Damo, I think you did well on price - and if you hold onto them the prices will just go up. No telling how much they will be worth when you are my age  ::)

I love Playmospace, but it's difficult to find. I did manage to get the black version of the robot a while back, it doesn't come up very often.

The way prices are going on ebay, I should imagine they will continue to rise up and up 8}

The black version is the Mattel one isn't it? One came up on UK ebay a couple of years ago and it went for about £20, but I didn't really know what it was back then :(

I'm a bit late to this as out internet has been off - again!  but Wow! that is a great haul Damo.  :(o):  :omg:  :(o):
I never manage to find anything at local sales, I even visit charity shops but with no success - I usually end up buying a book or something I don't want instead!

I love the space vehicles, and the fairy tale castle is wonderful, I only have the smaller version.  :'(  I must admit I can't imagine where the construction work will fit in with it

I have been trying to visualise the black robot, but don't think I've seen it.  Could you post a photo of it Tim?

There it is Elaine. This is Antex's version. I've seen it too with red eyes which maybe is Mattel's version.
Cheers.

I think the red eyes version is the Estrella, and the Mattel is the same as this one :-\

Yes that's the same as the Mattel. The Mattel version came with a black spaceman also. You can see them in the lower center of this box back.

Your spending spree looks as if it could be a sound i9nvestment, Damo!  You could end up as the man who paid his way through college with Playmobil.

I would love the mansion but it never goes for less than silly money. I saw one on the high street recently reduced to a tenner short of what you paid for the lot. I do love the castle too but I could find no use for it.

Someone made a comment about how you'd make it fit the construction theme and it made me realise that the playmospace stuff appears to largely be construction-on-the-moon!

If you mean what set he is from, then he is from the Victorian Schooner:

30 00 3990 - Ship's passenger (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-3990)

If you meant where did I buy him, then it was a second hand toy stall at a fayre
