Title: New 2011 Sets
Post by: Tiermann on September 11, 2010, 15:02:09
Halvar over at Klickywelt has posted the first pictures of 2011 sets.
Themes are Hafen with new boats and beach sets including a ferry and a small fishing boat plus a beach side cafe.
Farm with new spotted pigs and it looks like new puppy molds plus some others
1-2-3 including a new forest set with 7 new animals
2 police and 2 Tuning sets for the limited release
the Easter Eggs - knight, fairy, baby animal veterinarian, go-cart
There is a very bad picture of the new specials, hard to tell really what's there.
Check out Klickywelt. I'm sure eventually someone will post the pictures here.

What's a Tuning set?  ???

The Easter Eggs sound....dull. Just versions of what's gone before.

Sounds like it could be a cheap year for me, unless the Specials are something amazing, which is probably a good thing.

What's a Tuning set?  ???

From looking at the pix at Klickywelt, I think it means an auto body/repair shop.   ???

Somebody wrote, you can change the car sides. And it look's like, there are also parts included, to change the engine bonnet and the bootlid. But I'm not sure.  ::)

Hi

similar to tuning an instrument so it sounds right we tune a motor so it runs at optimum performance .

Tuning a cars body is not a common term here in the US yet.

The café is my favorite set! I also love the ferry and waterpolice but I probably won't buy them because I don't collect boats!
The new farm gets an extreme meh from me. It looks the same a the previous except more childish .

Easter eggs and specials double meh.

123 looks awesome especially that rocket!

These are all very interesting sets. Every new one seems more radical than the previous sets. Like that grocery/farm house.
It s like the house in the forest...

Good to know we'll have another chance on this police van! I wanted one so badly but neverhad the chance to get it!

I dont have the account so dont know how to ask for permission, the new specials are quite cool. But are we simply getting too many babies with mothers recently??

I love the shelter in the pig set! It will be great in my zoo! I love the solar panels on the barn. Isn't that the first time we've seen solar panels?

I really, really like the ferry! That's a great idea. And I was noticing that you could play Jaws and Jaws II  :munch: with some of the new sets. 5131 looks like the boat from the first movie, and then 5130 is like the boats the kids went out in in the second movie, and 5129 would make a great set for that, too.

Hi

There were solar panels with battteries in the tree house set.

I like the 5124 calf shelter but those are usually used in our country as a young dairy cow pen so if we want to use these in a scene it would be nice to have a dairy operation with all the milking machines etc.... I just hope playmobil was not intending on these being used as veal pens  :'(

I really like the 5121 large tractor with the large trailer. It looks great as it is but I will be using the loader for logging operations

The arched 5122 pig pen looks interesting but I would like to see it closer up

As far as the building go I like a lot of the accessories but why is it that Playmobil keeps downsizing the walls and roofs. It is starting to look more and more like a Hollywood scene and less like a real building.

The beach or water front buildings look so small but I do hope they are system X so we can at least make them as big as we want.

The baby blue police swat van is just not right, who picks these colors  :hmm:

The race cars look great. I too think the white one resembles a Porsche and the other one does look like a convertible saab. I just hope we are putting on the decals so we can choose to leave them off if we want

Thanks for posting this info and the pics... it's great to see what's coming in the distant future!  As for the sets - ho hum, nothing of much interest for me.  I like the ferry boat though - it's a good theme for here considering that's the only way of getting off this island.

I like the eggs with the fairy/unicorn and the animal handler/baby animals.  They're cute.   :D

The new pig pen has pigs with spots?  Or should I get new glasses?  :: cleaning glasses ::   No, it still looks like they have spots.

I think I'm going to be tempted to buy a fishing boat, too.  It's going to be a good year for Playmobil purchases when those sets come to the US.

thanks for posting these pics

cars are my favourite so im very pleased to see so many of them (especially the tuning cars). the polizei van intrigues me as i can't decide if it is blue, white or silver to match the other polizei vehicles...i hope its silver.

im loving the ferry and harbour building and the other boats but just am not sure about the fishing boat. i cant help thinking it looks like the 123 version but with adult klickies. i hope to be proven wrong when i see a bigger picture.

i like the new farmhouse with farm shop but agree that playmo are making the buildings and especially the barn roof too basic...i know kids need to be able to access the inside for play value but we managed to play in the older buildings with proper roofs when we were kids! rant over...i bet i buy them all anyway!

Well, there is a milk ... silo? (is that the right word?) in the set with the barn. So I guess they intend it to be a dairy.

I love the new little car. The farm isn't bad either. I will wait for better pictures of the special to comment on them...

Check set 4217 & 5746. I seem to vaguely remember the red one but now that I see it again I like it. IF you changed the floor color it would look a bit better in my opinion

It is nice to see the tractor in Claas colours, I suppose the old one could have been a MF, and the blue one and green billy Ford's and Fendt's

I can't understand why the silo has a pic of a cow on it ??? Milk isn't stored in silos, and the pic tackens it up a bit :-\

Title: Re: New 2011 Sets
Post by: Tiermann on September 25, 2010, 14:41:02
Damo, milk is kept in silos. Large dairy farms have silos for storage of the milk before the truck comes to take it to the creamery. Dairy silos are typically narrower with a round top, where grain silos these days are wider often with a pointed top.

WoW!  Like everything else in life, not everyone can be pleased.  I would like to say that these new sets look GREAT :)9.

a few notes:

- Im glad to see Playmobil making newer and more creative buildings / structures, although may not be the best for modeling purposes they alow for excellent play value for children.

-I feel that Playmobil continues to get more realistic and detailed every year with the majority of their "city life" sets.

-Sometimes you just have to look outside the box and use your imagination......when I see the barn building I actually vision it completely gutted of "farm stuff" and turned into a shipyard style warehouse where anything could be maufactured and even appears that the front door is even tall enough to have a rail car enter.  And like someone else mentioned about the dockside police station.....just remove the signage and you can turn it into anything, afterall, how many police stations do we need?

- Yes, milk here in the US is stored on site while waiting to be delivered in elevated and non elevated silos.  This particular silo does resemble more of a feed silo though but could go both ways.

-And yes, here in the US it is common for the younger generation to refer to "sport compact cars" as "tuned" cars or "tuners" or "tuning" as a verb for customizing your car.

-Best of all, Well done on the ferry! :**:

That's what I thought :-\

Ones here in the UK are just big silver tanks that stand on the ground. This particular one looks like one for grain, which does appear on the front, but also with the cow ???

well tanotrooper in hadoque's thread "New sets late 2010 / early 2011 (Europe)" - http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=5191.0 - you can see your horses and motorbikes (that is, if you consider "american" motorbikes - there are 2 of them - as real motorbikes :P).

You can now look them up on the German website (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Search-Show?cgid=Special).

sorry guys, I was talking about the specials to be released in the second half of 2011, including the skater, could-be viking, pirate captain and other fillers, which I saw in the klickywelt. I have no account there so cant ask for permission

I was thinking the other day about these new horses. They are beautiful but I love the first playmo horse..... it is a ruff design but it has something..... I like them. Maybe the simplicity of them... I don't know...

I like the new ones better. A akid I always wondered why they couldn't make the horses better, more realistic. All the other animals were really good; why did the horse look like a cave drawing?  ???

I like those new horses as much as the oldest/first ones

I think the ones that were around in the 2000's were the worst playmobil animal design ever :P
glad they'll be gone ;D

I just wish the new horses had movable legs :hmm:

Yes, I've always thought they should have movable legs, but maybe that would make them look awkward. Picture them looking like the zebras.

I think he means the current horse design? I like it better than the old design myself. But I don't know if it will be gone because of these new ones coming out. I think they are just special horses.

What's really cool about the old horse is that it's very nicely playable ... You could galop well, and even put the horse standing on the back legs (and tail). That is simply genious!

The new horses are only pretty, but not all that playable ... I miss my old ones.

That is true... I always loved that about the originals that you could make the buck. Your imagination always kind of covered the rest.

I love the old horses, even though they're kind of weird looking

current horses = (hmm I need a face throwing up here)

bonnie, I think you're right about the new horses, they may be just ad addition and not a susbstitution
