Hi all
I am a keen fan of Playmobil who has been collecting a ranger of sets for my two kids for around five years. We began with Knights (Dragon Castle) but also spread into Pirates and then a range of modern City toys (Police, Rescue, Construction and shops etc.).
Thanks to e-bay we picked up a good deal of bargains including some complete older sets. I am afraid that, as far as my son is concerned, PM has struggled against Star Wars and Ben 10. However, it still gets taken out of the attic and played with. It still appears on birthday and Christmas lists so I still get to check out bargain opportunities.

Knights are the best of the Playmobil sets I think... ;D
They started my collection and now I'm totally hooked.
(And loving every second of it. )
Welcome Keen!

Hi - Its me again.
Just to add a few further details. I live in Knaresborough, a town with a medieval royal castle (in ruins) so I guess this inspires the interest in the Knights/Medieval sets. Seehttp://www.knaresborough.co.uk/castle (http://www.knaresborough.co.uk/castle)for more details. I reckon WarriorOfToys will get a thrill from this. I would quite fancy recreating the castle in PM but that would involve a serious investment. For anyone interested in castles I would recommend "Castle: A History of the Buildings that Shaped Medieval Britain" by Marc Morris. It ties in with a tv programme made for Channel 4 in the UK.
It seems Playmofire is a near neighbour.

Awww, I was sure that with your name you must be from Holmfirth!
I remember visiting Knaresbrough years ago and seeing Mother Shipton's cave.

Skypurr - Not too far off the mark. I grew up in Huddersfield near Holmfirth. Firth is a common name in West Yorkshire.
I know your part of the world very well having honeymooned in the area and returned for family holidays - check my comments on your Kirkbean event.

Hello from someone not far south of you in Grantham!
Star Wars has always been my main collecting focus but as the line diversified and swelled it became impossible to keep up. Especially with all the other lines I was interested in!
My inner-child secretly quite likes Ben 10 though!
