Checking for an old small toy shop I used to know look what I have found:
3L74 escimos made by Lyra.Box is a bit tired but escimos still in their sealed plastic bag
Found another 2-3 Lyra playmobil items and old playmobils and iwill try to find out their identity over the online catalogue so I can inform you.

Very cool set! 8-) :yup:
How do you feel these old Lyra sets compare with Playmobil produced in Germany? We've often heard that the box contents don't always match exactly with the pics on the box, but I was wondering if the plastic is similar in quality. The only Lyra Playmobil I have in my collection is a couple of keychains (http://www.justforklicks.com/j4k/keychains/variations.html), and I don't see any noticeable difference between those and other older figures I have.
Also, do you manage to get these sets cheap because they are old - or does the shopkeeper recognise their collectability and charge you accordingly? (Just curious. ;))
I hope he will find those knights for you. :)

Dear Sylvia I dont dare to take them out of bag lol
The canoe is not sealed and looks fine as i touch it ;D
all parts are as shown in picture in the bag.
although the box states that colors may vary than those on picture
I wonder why is that.
Shopkeeper is wise and he has put his prices up to todays sets and i think a bit more. I dont know how to check but i think they are pricey cause he said they dont make these anymore.
Imagine that the escimo set had a 25 euro sticker above and under an 18 euro and the the original label under says 4.550 drachmas thats around 13.30 euro so he has marked up that in time.
But then can i compare an old set of 5 figures to a new one of same amount of figures?
Doesnt age and rarity take part?
He sure knows what he sells cause he dont make any discount yet lol

I hope you get the old knight sets

Thanks Meg.
I am trying to take pictures of some interesting Lyra numbered with L sets that i found in a small leaflet in the box.
The online catalogue has only 4 Lyra sets but i can see many more of them.
I wi ll need your experience to what you already knew it existed and what not.
Is this the right place to post them?

Pastifi,
I believe this would the perfect place to post the pictures of the Lyra sets.
There are several of us who would be very interested in getting a better idea of what Lyra offered.
Thank you
Meg

Probably a standard disclaimer used on all the Lyra sets. :)

Indeed, if the seller is well informed he will undoubtedly raise his prices. :( Occasionally, you hear of collectors getting very lucky and finding older sets still with their original sticker prices from the time when they were first released, but that's not very often these days.

Yep. "Collector's Corner" would be the best board for that. :yup:
Perhaps a good idea to start a new topic with a title that will attract the attention of people interested in the Lyra sets. Makes it easier to find for people who scan the titles and don't have time to read everything. ;)

Victorian children with toys - a boy with stilts and a girl with a doll and pram. :)
is there any treasure item there ishould run and grab? lol
Victorian themed sets are almost always a good investment.
Out of all of those, I'd advise getting the carriage if you think the price isn't too high. It's a beautiful item and one of the harder ones to obtain for a reasonable price on eBay.
The other sets are pretty cool ones too. I can certainly see why you love living in Athens. ;)

The larger Victorian sets are the ones to invest in.
I would pass on 5403, but the others are all in demand.
I cant say a thing about the other sets
