I recently bought several Romans, and thanks to Sir Wolf, also was gifted several.
(Sir Wolf, your package is in the process of being shipped out. Sorry it is taking so long.)
I also made a couple customs Romans (and a small squadron of Greeks),
Which I will also be sharing.
So here they are, first an over view shot of the whole lot.

Next, My general and his Guard. (Compliments of Wolf Knight.)
Him and his guard will eventually get horses, but for now I am using their horses in a Medieval display.

Here are a couple extra Centurions/Signifers. (Also Compliments of Sir Wolf. :) )
They will eventually me fitted into my army when I get more troops.

Then, my new Roman Auxiliaries.
They still don't have swords, but they are completely ready otherwise.
I will be able to get some swords (hopefully) the next time I order from DS.

The Auxiliary Commander. He directs the Auxiliary nits and keeps them in line. Filthy Auxiliary! :P

Here is my custom Signifer that will command my Triarii/Spear Auxiliary.
He will probably not get a Centurion, but If he does it will probably be the one in the picture after next...

Here is my Jerusalem Cohort. Whether or not a unit like this existed leaves to be speculated,
But since Jerusalem was a Roman province and had Roman Soldiers I am pretending that these were them.
They are not categorized as Auxiliary because they are full Roman Citizens.

These are my Cretan Archers (Greek Auxiliary).
They are accompanied by the Custom Centurion I was talking about before.

And these are what my Cretans will eventually look like.

I will post pics of my whole Roman Army soon, in battle formation.
I hope you all enjoyed!

Thanks Ali Baba! :)
I have been working hard on it for some time, and soon... well not that soon...
It will be complete!!! ;D ;D ;D

Great to see more ideas on Roman customs WoT. I particularly like the Jerusalem Cohort, very clever idea!
I still love seeing the Romans lined up in their massed ranks. I've got far too many Romans already, but every time I see a set on the shelves it's hard not to grab it anyway (one of my local shops is doing 15% off all set at present, and they have several 4271 sets).

AHHH, I hear you!
I really wanna just buy more Romans and finish my whole army right now!
But I also wanna buy some other people, and I have a schedule all figured out
For who I'm gonna buy next and approximately how much they are going to cost.
I will throw a big knife in those plans if I go off and buy tons of Romans now. :-\
So hard not to!!! ;D ;D ;D
It is such a slow and tedious process. 8}
Thank you, I really like the Jerusalem Cohort too.
I don't even know how I really though of it,
I was just fiddling when I though to myself...
What if I combined some of my Egyptians with my Romans??? :)
It was gonna be at least a-whole-other year
before I could buy the Romans I needed to create the unit
when one of my friends told me he was giving away his collection
and said I could just pick out whatever and take it.
I was very reserved, and only took the Romans, Civil War fort walls, and some French Napoleonic Figures. 0)
(He still has tons!)

Great organisation Warrior!! I am so happy I could contribute!! Glad to see that you have other friends who managed to help you as well!!!
I too like the Jerusalem Cohort!! They have so much character... :)9 :)9 :)9
Nice job on the Cretans too!!! I like the use of the hat!!
I've put my Roman on ice...meaning I stopped buying, as I want to concentrate more and more on knights...Oh and trying to get a few western sets too!!!
By all means Warrior, keep up the good work!!!! :D :D :D :D

Thanks Wolf Knight! ;D
My Romans will be put on ice for a while too,
After I buy the Triarii I have so many other things 8}
It may very well be a year (!) before I start buying more Romans.

How did you decided to use Cretans in you project Warrior?

How did you decided to use Cretans in you project Warrior?
I wanted to build the Jerusalem Century,
So I did, and the parts I had to switch around to make them created the Cretans as well.
Instead of just using them as Roman Citizens, (which I was going to do)
I looked at them and thought, Greek Auxiliaries, for whatever reason.
Then I though about what I would use them for. (Cavalry, Inf., Archers)
And I chose archers, because I needed more of them. ;D
Then I remembered the Cretan Archers from Rome Total War,
And thought that it would be a great idea. :)
So here they are. ;D

That's a great Roman army, WarriorOfToys! I like your customs and all your different troop types. I would say you've got infantry, cavalry, and archers pretty well covered! :)

Thanks Justindo.
But I am itching to buy some more cavalry, I will probably need a lot.
I am thinking 10 more Roman Equites will do.
And another archer group, they will be my one redeeming factor against Giorginetto.

Excellent !!! My late grandfather was from crete !!!! gret customs sir WoT!!!

Actually (if we play by my Melee Combat Rules (http://gardenwargaming.playclicks.com/forum/index.php?topic=1370.0) )
Then it is only a matter of tactics to stop your turtle formation.
Sorry, just realized but that link will not give you the whole rule book...
I haven't uploaded it all. :-\
But there is a second part to the rules that explains special formations like the turtle formation.
Here are the rules for the Roman Tortise:
Roman Testudo: When Legionnaires form the testudo (tortoise) position. The formation can suffer no casualties from arrows if the archer is facing the formation. The individual legionnaires also gain +1 defending die. However, the unit’s flanking area is expanded and an attack to their flanks can occur if the attacking unit is past 45 degrees to either side of the legionnaires facing position.
When we have our battle I can explain that in a little more detail,
And hopefully make it sound clearer.
