Title: Joining system x and older type forts.
Post by: skypurr on August 24, 2010, 11:21:40
I forgot to reply to Panos' comment in my 'Kirkbean Exhibition 2010' thread but thought it might be more appropriate here:

Absolutely amazing Elaine!!!!
I really loved the way you mixed the system x fort with the older type one!!!

I did have a complete 3023 Fort Eagle, (apart from one small piece on the lookout tower) which was I thought altogether in a plastic box and foolishly I didn't build it up before we went to the hall.  I had also got a number of spare walls from an old fort so just put them in the box.
When Sandy came to build the fort for me from the instructions I gave him, he found some connecting walls missing.
Luckily Junior had some spare parts from his 3079 space station - 30 21 3380.

and we found that these would connect with the system x and clip onto the old pieces. I don't know if these have been used for this before.  I know there is a part to connect steck and the old fort pieces but have never seen one to combine these two.
We didn't need to build a big fort due to lack of space so we had enough of these pieces and this option worked well!  It was very much a 'made up at the last minute' sort of fort!!

In Germany some guys already, combine all three types. With the part you show. It is more or less a matter of taste. Because there is a little bit more distance when you use that. ;)
