Good suggestion Alex, but these legs do not match the armour and flag colour. Their blue is a bit darker... I am using these 3899 legs on another project...The ones I am using in the eagle knights, and taken from the cossack special btw,are the perfect ones for knights. Its like the tunic (fabric) comes down to the side of the legs and covers the chain mail armour!

The torsos I am using is from 3030! I had bought four of them last year! That leaves one more knight to make...hmmm

Very nice customs, Panos.  As you say, the legs from the Cossack are ideal.

Yes, I believe Playmobil had that idea when they made them.
It is called a surcoat.

Great Customs by the way.
Perhaps they could be part of an Order of Knights,
Like the Templar Order, except they work for the King.

They accept the best Knights and train them to be like a crack force.

Good references Warrior!!! I knew you'd be the one to give them  ;) !! Thanks for reminding me the word surcoat!!!
Good idea on the order thing...unfortunately I have only these three and they can hardly make an order...

Nice customs Wolfie!

I'm not a great fan of the spiky silver collar, if these were mine I'd try something else there, but it works. I'd also try to match the swordbelt color to the brown boots color, but you may be limited by available parts.

I like the yellow eagle figure, and wish he had appeared in other sets. I suppose I could try ordering a bunch via DS, but if I did that for every possible "order of knights" figure I had it'd cost a bomb.

They look great Sir Wolf. I am really wondering what the difference is if you put the other  knights legs on them!

Yes, I wasn't crazy about the spiky silver collar either Martin, But it made more sense to go with the spiky ends of the tunic... you'll get a glmpse of it on the middle knight , right under his swordbelt! If you remove the spiky collar you'll also discover a spiky pattern on the tunic....Somehow nothing else sits well with my eye....

There is a listing on ebay right now for the original 3030 eagle knight....ready to be shocked?
http://cgi.ebay.de/Playmobil-9970-3030-Ritter-Spanien-Fahne-/130405818144?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrKind_Spielzeug_Playmobil
And he does not even has his horse!!!!
So i suppose the DS option is more pragmatic...

you mean the 3899 or the 4339 Gis?

I think that the 4339 fit better, being silver and all...

Those Eagle Knights look good, Panos!  I've always liked this particular knight's heraldry and was fortunate enough to get one thanks to a gracious member of this board.  I'm using yellow surcoat legs on my custom version, but the light blue works very well too.  The new blue and silver surcoat legs might look good too, although the brown is nice for something different.  If you do decide to keep the brown, I second Martin's suggestion to use a brown belt.  Also, I'm not sure about the dark blue feather, as the color is off.

Now that you mention it, this feather is indeed darker than the tunic... Thanks Justin  :)9 !!! I liked Martin's suggestion...I think I have a few roman centurions in my spare klicky drawer... only klickies you can find these brown belts I guess....

Oh I bet the yellow legs look great on them too!!!!

Ok so I took up Martin's advise and gave them the brown belt and yes, it is indeed much better...
Unfortunately I do not have a second eagle-like feather to replace the dark bluish one, but I'll be getting a 3314 - Treasure Transport (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3314) this week so I'll use the one in there to cover the loss!!!

Being impatient ;) , I bought one off of ebay for a reasonable price.  I only wanted one, so it wasn't too bad of a deal.

I'd really like PM to start making shields with an 'arm clip', so that we could attach the shield to the arm like the knight in the pictures posted earlier in this thread - would look good on horseback.

Patience is not one of my virtues    But the only thing that keeps me from getting a few from ebay is the fact that the set will eventually come to the greek market and it would be easier to get it from one of the local toy stores without paying shipping costs!!!
