Title: Todays Purchases
Post by: flatcat on August 20, 2010, 12:07:00
Hello

We popped into a local town today to do some shopping, and went into the toyshop there and this is what I bought.

The Victorian bedroom set for the mansion

Finally got the Cossack soldier Special

And an England football player, to go with my collection of Germany and Spain.

Very nice Damo!! The vistorian rooms are very well done and I really like them! The Coassack is a special I am constantly contemplating if I should get more although I don't really have a need it is one cool klicky! For obvious reasons we only own the Dutch soccer player so I understand that you had to get the England one :-)

I reckon the Victorian bedroom set that I got was the last Victorian set left in a toyshop ever in the world, but you never know what you may find ;)

I am a big fan of leaving sets sealed, but I think I may open this one, and use it in my Mansion when I get one, but we will see.

I love the Cossack soldier, I don't create armies, I just bought him for my Specials collection, but he is great.

I am gradually starting to collect all of the football players, but they are hard to find in toyshops :-\

Lovely set this visctorian bedroom is!!!! Great find Damo!!! I really love it when I unexpectedly find one sucha treasure!!!

The cossask is a great special because, yes true you can create a good army, but most importantly, it has so many accassories to create custom soldiers, pirates and knights!!! Especially these legs!!!! :D :D :D :D

Great finds, Damo. You must have had a great afternoon!

The cossack is great, but not just for making armies. I think it just looks good. It has good cossackyness.

Great finds, Damo.  The shopkeepers must see you coming and put them out on the shelves!

There have been a lot of Victorian theme boxes on eBay recently.

The Cossack is a good choice for a Victorian fancy dress evening.

Hi

Nice finds there Damo. I actually just got an order from Playmo with 3 cossacks and I want a lot more. The soccer players are hard to find here as well. We had the first round of them and then they were gone. We never saw the second round of them all and shipping from Europe is a lot. I like the bed room furniture but have to admit the purple is odd. I always thought it should be brown to represent wood. I know its a toy but yellow, purple & baby blue furniture just looks odd.

I must admit, I prefer the earlier Victorian bedroom set - the 5321 - Bedroom Set (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=5321) becuse it looks a bit more but not much more realistic in yellow.

But I am still happy to find this one

Hi

Yes I do remember and if I was not so busy with the pilot I would have found the other Victorian problems that happened a while back all ready. For some reason the Victorian auctions were a problem from some particular sellers . very odd

Forgot to mention earlier that our local toyshop has the Victorian bathroom on the shelf still - at £10.99 I think.
