Title: Rare sample boxes in old catalog
Post by: playmoed on August 20, 2010, 07:28:31
I found this old foreign catalog which features some very rare sample boxes which (with a 99,99 % certainty  0) were never produced. The first versions of the 2 Western sets 3241 and 3242 were released as 'line-art boxes' in which the contents were presented as drawings on the backside of the boxes. 1975 was the same year in which Playmobil decided to give all the Playmbil boxes the same blue colour. As you might all know the 3251 indian set was made in red, so it made perfect sense to originally design the 3241 and 3242 in red too. Luckily Playmobil made some sample boxes (customised) and supposedly sent the pictures to certain distributors. Also the 'traveller's accessories set' was produced in a light blue colour (3206) and the 'builder's accessories' set also came in a differently designed box (3205), these 2 were the other boxes which were released as 'line-art boxes' in 1975. So I was thrilled to see these rare boxes in an old foreign catalog, enjoy the pictures  :)
