Avie and Flatcat are heading to the old factory site with Scout Parsons, answering a call for back up from his fellow officers

(http://a.imageshack.us/img687/5269/200912290002.jpg) (http://img687.imageshack.us/i/200912290002.jpg/)

When they arrive at the site, they can see no one, just an empty police car

(http://a.imageshack.us/img804/95/200912290003.jpg) (http://img804.imageshack.us/i/200912290003.jpg/)

They drive around the car, but nobody is around. They begin to get worried.

(http://a.imageshack.us/img85/3813/200912290005j.jpg) (http://img85.imageshack.us/i/200912290005j.jpg/)

Then they spot Andy over in the distance, using the ripper on the bulldozer to break up the old concrete hardstanding

(http://a.imageshack.us/img508/8049/200912290006.jpg) (http://img508.imageshack.us/i/200912290006.jpg/)

The noise of the machine makes it impossible to speak, but they exchange welcoming waves, and Andy points them in the right direction

(http://a.imageshack.us/img696/641/200912290007.jpg) (http://img696.imageshack.us/i/200912290007.jpg/)

They continue driving through the desilate industial scrub land, until they come across some life

(http://a.imageshack.us/img13/6650/200912290011.jpg) (http://img13.imageshack.us/i/200912290011.jpg/)

They leave the patrol car, and head over on foot to see what is going on

(http://a.imageshack.us/img695/8634/200912290012.jpg) (http://img695.imageshack.us/i/200912290012.jpg/)

John explains that they found this secret hiding place whilst removing moving lumps of rubble. The booty still looks fresh

(http://a.imageshack.us/img21/8348/200912290013.jpg) (http://img21.imageshack.us/i/200912290013.jpg/)

The police officers are making checks with the station

The police officers emerge, and report that the treasures were stolen from the town museum a week ago, and that they must be returned immedietly as they are very valuable and orf utmost importance to the town.

(http://a.imageshack.us/img192/808/200912290016.jpg) (http://img192.imageshack.us/i/200912290016.jpg/)

John is sent in to remove the last of the stolen goods, ready to load into Site foreman's truck

(http://a.imageshack.us/img695/286/200912290015.jpg) (http://img695.imageshack.us/i/200912290015.jpg/)

Site foreman reverses up his pickup, with Scout Parsons acting as banksman

(http://a.imageshack.us/img256/3277/200912290017.jpg) (http://img256.imageshack.us/i/200912290017.jpg/)

The treasures are carefully packed into the rear of the truck, with the utmost of care to ensure their safe return to the museum

(http://a.imageshack.us/img827/9598/200912290018.jpg) (http://img827.imageshack.us/i/200912290018.jpg/)

Scout parsons moves his patrol car, as the treasures set off, with Bob volunteering to be lookout in the back

(http://a.imageshack.us/img841/8207/200912290019.jpg) (http://img841.imageshack.us/i/200912290019.jpg/)

The police officers lead the way

Title: Re: Discovery
Post by: flatcat on August 19, 2010, 10:20:12
With everyone gone, Scout Parsons comes up with a plan to catch the robbers when they return (as they always do) ::)

(http://a.imageshack.us/img704/3849/200912290021.jpg) (http://img704.imageshack.us/i/200912290021.jpg/)

They follow him to his car

(http://a.imageshack.us/img844/3453/200912290022.jpg) (http://img844.imageshack.us/i/200912290022.jpg/)

From the unsuspecting wooden crate in his boot, he pulls out a shiney police issue rifle with scope

(http://a.imageshack.us/img689/6763/200912290023.jpg) (http://img689.imageshack.us/i/200912290023.jpg/)

Scout Parsons reverses his car up behind a remaining factory storage building, so that it is not easily seen

(http://a.imageshack.us/img412/18/200912290024.jpg) (http://img412.imageshack.us/i/200912290024.jpg/)

He points out a suitable ledge in which they should lay in wait

(http://a.imageshack.us/img33/7451/200912290025.jpg) (http://img33.imageshack.us/i/200912290025.jpg/)

They ly low, so as not to be seen. Scout Parsons hands John his pistol

(http://a.imageshack.us/img707/5961/200912290026.jpg) (http://img707.imageshack.us/i/200912290026.jpg/)

And they wait
Title: Re: Discovery
Post by: flatcat on August 19, 2010, 10:41:35
And sure enough, from the woods, come the robbers.

Look - it's Rosie robber, with a new partner in crime

(http://a.imageshack.us/img84/8634/200912290027.jpg) (http://img84.imageshack.us/i/200912290027.jpg/)

(http://a.imageshack.us/img192/9167/200912290028.jpg) (http://img192.imageshack.us/i/200912290028.jpg/)

They are angry to find that their loot has gone

(http://a.imageshack.us/img508/4710/200912290029.jpg) (http://img508.imageshack.us/i/200912290029.jpg/)

They panic, thinking it's a trap, and race back up the path to the woods

(http://a.imageshack.us/img695/6050/200912290032.jpg) (http://img695.imageshack.us/i/200912290032.jpg/)

*BEOW*

Scout Parsons fires the rifle in the direction of the woods entrance

The pair are frightened, and run back down towards the work site

(http://a.imageshack.us/img708/6678/200912290033.jpg) (http://img708.imageshack.us/i/200912290033.jpg/)

Title: Re: Discovery

The robbers come across an empty loader, and lucky for them, the keys are still inside

(http://a.imageshack.us/img830/3851/200912290034.jpg) (http://img830.imageshack.us/i/200912290034.jpg/)

They fire up the smoky diesel engine, with Rosie in shooting position

(http://a.imageshack.us/img148/4623/200912290036.jpg) (http://img148.imageshack.us/i/200912290036.jpg/)

With an inexperianced operator at the wheel, the 14 ton wheel loader smashes through a porta loo as it picks up speed

(http://a.imageshack.us/img530/258/200912290037.jpg) (http://img530.imageshack.us/i/200912290037.jpg/)

Scout Parsons hands the rifle over to Avie, while he goes to get his patrol car to catch them

(http://a.imageshack.us/img186/3535/200912290035.jpg) (http://img186.imageshack.us/i/200912290035.jpg/)

The robbers head off at speed, heading towards the exit

(http://a.imageshack.us/img718/3209/200912290038.jpg) (http://img718.imageshack.us/i/200912290038.jpg/)

Scout pulls out in front of the speeding earth mover, but it shows no sign of slowing down

(http://a.imageshack.us/img80/5007/200912290039.jpg) (http://img80.imageshack.us/i/200912290039.jpg/)

The machines hurtles into the side of Scout's car, debris flying everywhere

(http://a.imageshack.us/img227/3460/200912290040.jpg) (http://img227.imageshack.us/i/200912290040.jpg/)

The digger continues on at speed, turning round for another attack.

Poor Scout's car is badly damaged and won't start

(http://a.imageshack.us/img717/9808/200912290041.jpg) (http://img717.imageshack.us/i/200912290041.jpg/)

A sitting duck, Scout fires as many rounds as he can at the digger which is now rapidly advancing on him at speed.

His bullets just bounce off the machine's giant bucket, whilst bullets from Rosie's gun pepper the side of the car

(http://a.imageshack.us/img46/8469/200912290044.jpg) (http://img46.imageshack.us/i/200912290044.jpg/)

The 14 ton digger hurtles into the side of the car

(http://a.imageshack.us/img808/3037/200912290045.jpg) (http://img808.imageshack.us/i/200912290045.jpg/)

The car is laid to rest on it's roof, as the robbers know that their job is done

(http://a.imageshack.us/img571/7500/200912290046.jpg) (http://img571.imageshack.us/i/200912290046.jpg/)

The exit is in sight, but they fail to notice Andy in his bulldozer, advancing on them at speed

They notice Andy, but it is too late.

(http://a.imageshack.us/img130/4250/200912290048.jpg) (http://img130.imageshack.us/i/200912290048.jpg/)

The blade of the bulldozer slices into the rear tyre, shredding it completely.

The momentum of the digger drags the pair through the sand for a considerable distance before the tracks if the bulldozer grip in, and the pair come to a stop

(http://a.imageshack.us/img295/7701/200912290049.jpg) (http://img295.imageshack.us/i/200912290049.jpg/)

Andy leaps aboard the loader, wrestling with the driver

(http://a.imageshack.us/img713/4559/200912290050.jpg) (http://img713.imageshack.us/i/200912290050.jpg/)

Andy hauls him out, as he wrestles with him on the ground

(http://a.imageshack.us/img718/3699/200912290051.jpg) (http://img718.imageshack.us/i/200912290051.jpg/)

Just as they slice through the last pillar needed to free Scout, the paramedics arrive

(http://a.imageshack.us/img716/1239/200912290064.jpg) (http://img716.imageshack.us/i/200912290064.jpg/)

(http://a.imageshack.us/img23/9338/200912290065.jpg) (http://img23.imageshack.us/i/200912290065.jpg/)

Scout Parsons is loaded into the ambulance, alond with Rosie Robber with her shot leg, and an officer to accompany them to the hospital

(http://a.imageshack.us/img268/1531/200912290066.jpg) (http://img268.imageshack.us/i/200912290066.jpg/)

Everyone is left standing around, reflecting on the days events, whilst the remaining policeman collects evidence

(http://a.imageshack.us/img822/934/200912290070.jpg) (http://img822.imageshack.us/i/200912290070.jpg/)

Whilst the policeman is just leaving, a friendly face arrives.

(http://a.imageshack.us/img186/3495/200912290071.jpg) (http://img186.imageshack.us/i/200912290071.jpg/)

It is Joe, the police mechanic, who has come to collect Scout Parson's car

(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/7069/200912290072.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912290072.jpg/)

(http://a.imageshack.us/img339/1728/200912290073.jpg) (http://img339.imageshack.us/i/200912290073.jpg/)

He then hoists up the car, and tows it back to the yard

(http://a.imageshack.us/img805/4187/200912290075.jpg) (http://img805.imageshack.us/i/200912290075.jpg/)

As everyone packs up, and gets in their trucks to go home, Avie and Flatcat are left wondering how they are going to get home, now that they have lost their lift

Fantastic story, well paced and photographed throughout!

I'm ever-so-slightly curious as to how rapidly Rosie was able to load and fire a one shot muzzle-loading flintlock pistol while hanging onto the dozer with her left hand, but Playmobil themselves had a similar issue in one of their pirate stories, so I guess I can let you have this one.  ;)

Hi

Great fast paced story you put together. The photo angles were very nice as there was never anything in a picture to distract from the adventure. I really liked how when the big black gun came out they kept pointing it at each other  :o I also like how you were able to fit yourself in the story line.

You do have a put together a wonderful story I will read to my boys.

Excellent story and plot, Damo.  Scout Parsons doesn't seem too bright trying to stop a machine that size with his police car.  Maybe he was brought up on Dixon of Dock Green where the baddies, when cornered, always gave up gracefully saying, "It's a fair cop, Guv.  You've got me bang to rights, put the darbies on!"

The ignition keys in the ignition rang bells.  When I worked on the legal and admin side for a UK company I discovered that because the delivery van drivers kept losing the ignition keys the transport manager had had them welded into the ignition lock.  Well, to say I discovered it isn't quite true - the teenagers who broke into the vehicle compound one night discovered it!

Thank you Gordon

Scout Parsons isn't very knowlegable yet in dealing with situations as he is still a scout

Hi

I do the same thing in our trucks and cars. I do not actually weld them in but I leave them in the ignition as to not loose them. I require all our employees to leave them in as well. Trying to keep track of 16 vehicles + all the equipment keys gets really annoying . We do not have problems with kids getting in our yard as we have dogs. The only problem is when I go to stores I tend to leave the keys behind  :-\ Often when we would go hiking in the deep forest the keys to all the logging equipment would be right there. I actually have keys for most everyones equipment as they only make so many keys for a given company (john deere, cat, kubota etc...)

That is most interesting - what is it exactly you do? ???

It is a funny thing having keys fitting the same machines - our lawnmower key fitted a Kubota mini digger we had
